I posted a comment on the Youtube video, but it'll just get buried and there wasn't enough room to say what needed to be said. It'll probably get buried here too.

Okay, so it's fucked up. I'm not denying that. The way that police beat this man to death and blamed the hospital is just so terrible that it makes me sick in my heart.

BUT

At the end of the video he said that some armed citizen should have shot those cops on sight. Vigilante justice. No trial, just "Fuck you police guys! You're doing a bad on a man!" The information in this video is surely enough to prosecute, and I have faith that the justice system will prevail (at least I hope so, but that's a different topic).

But any armed citizen that was present would not have known what was going on. This man is encouraging people to just mete out their own justice as long as they have a weapon. Cops have to use force all the time, frequently on belligerent people who are threatening and/or violent. That's what their there for, to prevent dangerous people from getting to you. This instance, while terrible, is in the minority. Cops don't always beat the living shit out of someone just because. If you see someone you think is getting unfair treatment, and you have a weapon, For the love of god don't take it into your own hands. Take out your camera/phone and start recording. That is the most effective thing you can do. Some cops are really good people. Some have families.

TL:DR This was bad. It was really really bad, but don't ever EVER use your own brand of justice on the police.
