Is next-day muscle soreness (DOMS) strongly correlated to gains?

i.e., If I don't feel sore the next day, should I take that as a sign I need to start changing up my routine?

Uniform muscle growth and the possible benefits of decline/incline benchpresses? by tiredfitnessdudein Fitness

[–]Fragsworth 0 points1 point ago

Incline presses work out this guy: http://www.exrx.net/Muscles/PectoralisClavicular.html

Regular and decline presses don't, so much.

It's the same muscle (Pectoralis Major) and they say you can't isolate a part of a muscle, but I'm going to call bullshit on that because I can lift things at certain angles and I can physically feel the upper part activating, while the lower part is at rest.

Is it healthy to not do cardio for months while mass gaining? by spacekillersin Fitness

There are much better measures of health than when someone died.

What? I really can't think of a better measure of health than how long you are statistically expected to live. Enlighten me...?

I've transitioned from keto to a normal bulking diet. I feel like shit. Can I go back and try to bulk on keto while eating carbs around my workout? by rvoin Fitness

[–]Fragsworth 3 points4 points ago*

I suddenly changed my diet

I think you already know the answer to your problems by the tone of this sentence. Don't change your diet so quickly like that. It takes time for your gastrointestinal system to adjust to drastic diet changes - especially milk. People who haven't had milk in a long time tend to become lactose intolerant. I'd suggest you back off new foods a bit, and increase them slowly over the next few weeks.

I just wanted to know is this a fairly healthy lunch? by msuhmazingin Fitness

[–]Fragsworth 7 points8 points ago

Don't eat that Activia bullshit - the nutrition facts are made to look healthy by putting the yogurt in extremely tiny portions. I swear to god, one Activia yogurt container is about two fucking bites. Also, objective fact: it's gross. If you like yogurt, eat Chobani. It's very high in protein, and delicious.

Anyway, that's a pretty unhealthy lunch. About the only thing good in there is the apples (by themselves).

The ideal study needs to compare death rates for three groups of people with similar bodyfat %.

Group A - Exclusively cardio

Group B - Mixed cardio / weight training

Group C - Exclusively weight training

Do you mean etiquette?

I don't see what's all that bad about shaving in a sauna anyway.

Warming up before lifting - is there real evidence that it is necessary? by Fragsworthin Fitness

That's what I have been told before. It really sounds like broscience though. Not saying it is wrong but I'm still not convinced.

Hey Fittit I'm doing Fast Food Free February, who is with me? by kranzb2in Fitness

Actually it makes you nauseated. If you are "Nauseous"(the act of making others feel ill) It means you are making others "Nauseated" -( the effect of feeling ill.)

False. Wrong. Incorrect. There's nothing I hate more than a faulty grammar "correction".

https://www.google.com/search?&q=nauseous

  1. Affected with nausea; inclined to vomit.

Not just that, but some people have permanent damage resulting from hallucinogens.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hallucinogen_persisting_perception_disorder

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LSD#Psychosis

Do not give people hallucinogens without them knowing it. They didn't sign up for the risks involved, and you don't want to be responsible for fucking up the rest of their lives.

Lower abdominal "pouch"? by cduff77in Fitness

[–]Fragsworth 2 points3 points ago

Doing tons of sit-ups is very unlikely to help your situation - it can make your abs larger, but doesn't get rid of the fat in the area.

Man Arrested for Teabagging Assault on Unconscious Man by Secret_Alienin offbeat

[–]Fragsworth -1 points0 points ago

In the end, how much harm could really have been done by this act?

"Your honor, I was so traumatized by this event that I can never drink another sip of alcohol without trembling in fear of potentially being teabagged again."

Man Arrested for Teabagging Assault on Unconscious Man by Secret_Alienin offbeat

[–]Fragsworth -3 points-2 points ago

The only thing that is up for debate is the sex offender list.

Those ARE the legal ramifications. It doesn't really fit the crime.

Man Arrested for Teabagging Assault on Unconscious Man by Secret_Alienin offbeat

[–]Fragsworth 0 points1 point ago

If it were me, I'd probably drop charges too, because I don't think the potential punishment really fits the crime. It probably wasn't done out of true hatred or malice or any intent to really hurt the guy who was passed out - it was just douchebaggery and drunkenness.

No, a ponzi scheme is a completely different structure which is inherently doomed to fail, because they have to keep getting new investments to make interest payments to prior investors.

Full tilt poker was acting more like a bank. They kept less cash on hand than people had in receipts, which is not necessarily doomed to fail - it is fine as long as there's no "run" on the bank - where everyone decides to take all their money back at once.
