General Motors Says Facebook Ads Don't Work, Pulls $10 Million Account by KerrickLongin business

I wonder how much margin they make on the cheapest cars. I bet it is somewhere in their annual reports.

cut the budget. and translate that cut to the margin of cheapest cars. Lower your margin of profit and create some brand loyalty. fucking executives.

I'm just saying.. I'd still take sponsored shit. That would be much cooler. Rent out disney and send people there for christ sake. I'd rather here 500 people were flown to disney world than. "HAVE YOU SEEN OUR NEW FORD TRUCK" on facebook or pandora.

no. Think like this. 10M taken off the price of all the cars. They sell close to a ten million cars a year. facebook is probably only a fraction of the money. Then, don't evenly disperse it. Take most of the money off the already cheapest set of cars. Sell lots of cheap cars with lower margin = profits.

I wish marketing was illegal and that the only way i found out about anything was through word of mouth.

Actually...maybe a good way to live my life...

affect the purchase decision? Probably by a lot. Because a few thousand dollars of what you are paying for goes into that campaign to reach you. Goddamnit.

Ok. Forgetting lets focus then on character development. Did it not make you mad when Rearden and Dagny are portrayed as confident and powerful from the get go? In the book is it not important to really feel the stress of running a business? The greatest part of Atlas Shrugged was getting inside the mind of brilliant business owners. Seeing their vulnerabilities and how they overcame issues.

Do you not agree that they simplified dagny and rearden.

And my 2nd major concern: The Motor. They did not just find the motor. They completely took out the concern of both their businesses failing if they weren't able to locate this new technology. Taking this out of the movie took away an important issue and character development. What do you think?

Yes. I totally agree that if you read the book you aren't going to enjoy the movie. That being said though you expect the movie to reflect the character development. This movie had no character development...and ended with dagny screaming "nooo"...come on..

I totally agree. Dagny and Rearden were hardworking, tired, and barely getting by. Also they were not in love the first time they met, but rather started to fall for eachother after the success of the railroad. They made them look like prim and proper successful people from the get go. They completely eliminated the stress of running a business (mostly of failure).

Have you even read the book? Go do a re-read and tell me how the movie is applicable at all...

But hoenstly I don't think there is anywhere that objectivists can go and feel comfortable. Even around each other they are usually pretty tough crowd to get a long with.

"I think you're overreacting...I cried through the whole thing" Lol.

I am "overreacting" because it is conveying a completely different message than the book ever did.

Yes. I will get pissy about the time period because 1) Ayn projected a lot about our current time 2) The time period and the character development are closely related

I am not suggesting that HBO does it. I am saying that I would rather that than the crap that was produced.

Why don't you get it down on paper? The audience is there. Their are millions to educate. The funding could happen.
