Tips on how to make starbucks coffee suck less? (as a barista working there) by idontcarewhyin Coffee

Freaking serious???? I worked there in 2010 and Corporate reamed our asses if we didn't use the shot glasses!!! Especially for iced beverages because there's been a few times where I've seen a barista melt through a cup after adding 4 shots to it.

Ristretto shots, and steam your milk first. When I worked at Starbucks it was mandatory that your milk was steamed first because of the "Dead Shot" rule. Starbucks shots DO turn bad rather quickly if they're not added to anything.

But lately I've been seeing multiple Starbucks, including the one I worked at with old coworkers who followed the old rule, pulling shots first and then steaming milk, letting the shots sit. And you could taste it in the drink.

And don't do what I see every barista do these days and put the damn cup in the machine. You have shot glasses - use them.

If I remember correctly Margaery is 16 in the books, but in the show she's played by a 30 year old, how old is she in the show (S02E03 Spoilers) by Farjuanin gameofthrones

[–]Fizzbit 1 point2 points ago

Yeah I'd say she could pass as 18-20 with no problem. I was often mistaken for 20-25 when I was around 17 and I've known other girls in the same predicament, so it's not unheard of.

Ridiculous weight loss strategies for brides. The caption on the first picture say it all. WTF. by imitationcheesein TwoXChromosomes

I got engaged on February 29 and have a year to prepare for my wedding, and rather than going on fad diets I'm gonna start biking my way to and from work to get in shape and hopefully shed a few pounds. I'm currently a size 8/10 but I'd like to make that a solid 8 if at all possible.

Is it normal for your butt to feel bruised after a day of commuting or do I need a new seat? by Fizzbitin bicycling

I've only been riding less than a week, but one thing I am noticing is I truly think the bike is too narrow - even after adjusting some, it wants to support the area just inside my sit bones.

I've heard that there's not a whole lot of difference between the two... is the slit really that much better? Forgive me, I'm not too knowledgeable of the ergonomics that go behind a comfortable ride.

Are "anatomically correct" seats the seats that have that slight groove cut out down the middle or slit down the middle?

[–]Fizzbit[S] 0 points1 point ago

I do have to lean forward quite a bit in it and even if I sit with my sit bones where they're supposed to be, the molding of that part of the seat combined with how far back the seat is compared to the handlebars, my butt always slides forward into an uncomfortable position.

I've found that the bike store downtown is having a pretty good sale on some comfort seats right now, I'll probably pick one of those up and see how I like it.

May I ask what the proper "seat angle" is?

EDIT: I ask this because I can never seem to find a solid answer to this.

How much food colouring (concentrated gel) do I need to put in a cake to make people poo that colour? by Grossly_Overratedin AskReddit

[–]Fizzbit 0 points1 point ago

My mother made red velvet cupcakes for my oldest brother's 1st grade class for his birthday. She reported using 3 vials of McCormick Red Food Coloring for a batch of 24 cupcakes. She didn't put any in the frosting.

According to my brother and mother, 75% of the class was absent the next day after their parents panicked upon seeing their children piss red.

So if 3 vials in cupcakes can make a bunch of kids' parents think their children have a massive kidney infection, I'm sure it'd do something to poop, too.

I'd argue that temperature is an important detail but quantity of ground coffee is really up to the individual's tastes.

CONSISTENCY of ground coffee, however, is another matter entirely.

My doctor told me squats are the single worst thing I can do to my body. Have you ever heard a positive opinion on weightlifting from a MD? by Ayatrollah_Umadiin Fitness

[–]Fizzbit 14 points15 points ago

When I told my doctor I was doing squats and deadlifts, they told me alternatives and to significantly reduce my lifting numbers. As in, dropping from 75lb squats to 10lb dumbbells.

It took me asking my doctor "I'm sorry, but am I a patient in physical therapy or am I trying to increase my strength, gain muscle and lose fat?" before they finally looked at my lifting chart to see my progress and encourage me to keep on keeping on.

Good apartments either downtown, or on the west side? Looking for either a single for $450-525 or double for $550-635 a month by jrohlman88in wichita

[–]Fizzbit 1 point2 points ago

There's some apartments just west of the Warren West Theatre that I believe is within your pricerange. Friend of mine stayed there; very quiet complex. But there's a shitload of construction going on at 21st & Tyler right now...

You could also check into Indian Hills Apartments.
