So, essentially.. They don't want to make citizens accountable for their political and economic futures, because it would be a political and economic liability? puppy confused face

What is your "never again" brand, item, store, or restaurant ? by radbrad7in AskReddit

Taco Bell, by far. It smells like someone baked plastic in an EasyBake Oven.

Also, Abercrombie sucks my dick from the back with a straw. It smells like white privilege in there.

Moving From NJ for work in NYC, Advice / Tips about Living in Brooklyn? by crabpeople69in Brooklyn

[–]EvWasLike -1 points0 points ago

Honestly, I would look towards Harlem, the South Bronx or Queens if your budged its under $825, and you want to be in the city in under 30 minutes. Brooklyn is becoming overhyped, gentrified, and expensive. With the stadium opening up, rent and taxes are about to skyrocket if you live in BK. Harlem, the South Bronx, and Queens are cheaper, have better train service than the L, and are much more livable than people (mostly Brooklyners, Midtowners, and bridge + tunnelers) give it credit for.

The most beautiful places in NYC? by Mr24601in nyc

[–]EvWasLike 16 points17 points ago

The most beautiful place? I would definitely say the Cloisters at Fort Tryon Park. It's kind of a mystery to most NYCers because they don't go above 125 unless there's a Yankee Game, but it's easily one of the most serene places in the city. You might not even remember you're in a city until you check the views of the GW Bridge

Flying into NYC (LaGuardia) for the first time on thursday. First thing I want is a slice of New York Pizza. Where do I go? by victor_eeein nyc

[–]EvWasLike -2 points-1 points ago

Anywhere named 'Ray's' is probably a safe bet. Most heads in this post will scoff at it, because pizza is a source of contention among New Yorkers, but I've never had a problem at a Ray's.

Additionally, the price you're getting on rent is incredible. Don't let people scare you away because the only parts of the Bronx they've been to are Yankee Stadium, the Zoo, and Botanical Gardens.

I've lived all over the Bronx (off the 1,2,4,5,D, and 6), and anyone saying it's dangerous hasn't spent enough time there.

As with any place in NYC, you shouldn't walk around with your head up your ass. Be aware of your surroundings. Try to figure out where you're going and where you'll be before you head out.

In terms of Fordham Road, it's a commercial area to the tee. There are stores open at all hours of the night. Like I said, if you're just aware of your surroundings and vigilant about what you're doing, then you should be fine.

When a black man does the 'shoulder of justice,' it's called 'assault'. Hence the use of the 'weathered prisoner stare,' which my friends and I have affectionately deemed 'asserting your blackness'.

D'Antoni has resigned as Knicks head coach. by bobbo1701in nba

[–]EvWasLike 50 points51 points ago

The Knicks are a fucking joke. I've been a fan since I was born, but this is ridiculous. The only person who needs a pink slip is James Dolan, the owner who never has to answer questions, but always is fucking shit up.

The Knicks had a better team before the Carmelo trade. They moved the ball, had numerous options on offense, played some semblance of defense (without a true center), and ran the floor effectively. Donnie Walsh didn't want to go through with the trade and got fired because of it.

Last year's Playoffs only were close because Melo took 40 shots a game and the Celtics were saving their legs for a 2nd-round exit.

This season began and everyone was hyped off the Chandler signing, not realizing that losing Chauncey was going to hurt them. Carmelo isn't a leader. He never has been. He never will be. He had a better team in Denver and got past the 2nd round once, each time shooting his team out of contention.

D'Antoni can never be blamed for this team's terrible play. Melo is a ball stopper on offense, and has no concept of defense. During the Linsanity run, when A'mare had come back, the Knicks looked great. Melo came back and they began to implode.

Dolan destroyed this team. He mortgaged their future from 2007, trying to get LeBron, and when he didn't, the Knicks signed two overrated superstars. A'mare is only as good as his PG. Melo can't play with anyone. D'Antoni's resigning was collateral damage from all of this dysfunction.

Melo is NOT a top class player. He's a top class SCORER. He doesn't pass well, doesn't move without the ball, has no concept of defense and pouts constantly. If anything, he's a cancer.
