Interesting, however when he says "he doesnt like it" it's not what you or I would think of as not liking it. Most foods hes never even tasted, because he vomits before it even gets to his taste buds.

That he has an extreme fear beyond what most any of them have ever seen, in fact we had one therapist flat out say she can't deal with it was beyond what she is capeable of, or has experience with.

I bet if I didn't feed him for a week, being 4 years old he would die. However, I am sure you are a Dr who knows how a 4 year old functions compared to an adult.

The psychological stuff is treated weekly, the physiological is starting to be looked at again because the psychological just isn't getting anywhere, or at least not where we think it should be and want it to be.

He does see Therapists on a regular basis, as well as physcologists etc. He see's some form of specialist weekly, and is also in headstart programs for children with disabilities including feeding etc.

No, the girl eats all day long and whatever she wants IE: the entire bag of easter eggs she just bought.. she just can't gain a pound to save her life.

Yes sometimes he gags while drinking to the point of vomiting. And as for his teeth, not totally. So something I learned from all of this is that chewing food actually helps clean the saliva from your teeth and that saliva can leave / cause build up on your teeth so with his lack of chewing food he has higher build up then a normal person who chews.

His favorite color is blue, he is obsessed with blue and when he saw "red vs blue" yogurt it was more soothing to him to try it, thus we started with "blue" yogurt. We still give him plenty of fatty foods in his blends. Thanks for the question.

That is a fear both my wife and I share because obviously, as this post has shown humans by nature can be very cruel because anything that isn't in there own little world of "right" are flat out rude.

We went 48 hours without feeding, he was lethargic and obviously having pains he was 1.5 years old at the time and still refused to eat, even explaining it would make the pain go away. Kids do not understand the concept of pain and relief the way adults do, they also don't understand that not eating can = death, hell they don't even understand death. At his age he still doesn't fully understand why he has to eat, even though we tell him it's the only way to grow big like his older brother, get smarter etc. etc.. etc..

I plan to post another update when I get him further along, we have some more swallowing studies scheduled in a few months and we are actively trying to get into a feeding clinic and will update when there is more positive news.

Yes, we have tried to explain to him why things hurt and what he can do to correct it, it goes nowhere.
