About two months leading up to my high school graduation, my father fell and broke his arm, and by broke it I mean the top half of the bone formed a parallel with the bottom have of the bone, like this ll. While in it of itself it is not that big of a deal, however for a man who was suffering from Charcot-Marie-Tooth, who at this point suffered 4 heart attacks, and was taking all the medication required to live with these disorders(a full 34 pills a day including blood thinners) this was a huge deal. He spent the next week in the hospital, being monitored to make sure there were no complications from the break, or the two blood transfusion required to keep him alive. So over the next month and a half he concentrated solely upon the exercises required to help his arm to heal, so he could make it to my graduation. And I'm proud to say he did make it, and for a man who doctors said should of been dead years ago from his illness', not to shabby.

He also went with a cane, not a wheel chair.
