Anyone who has tried the uberman (or any other type of polyphasic) sleep schedule: does it lead to weight gain? by ladytweedin answers

[–]DavidIsPosting 0 points1 point ago

I was on the everyman one and i remember being much more hungry but it may be because i was awake more often. I can't tell you whether the cycle made me gain weight however, since i was trying to gain weight and upped my calorie intake.

Could you please answer this short survey on reading habits for my sister's undergrad dissertation please? (X-post from r/samplesize) by nediamnori87in books

Even then, the population demographic is still skewed. /r/books isn't representative of all readers. For all we know, books redditors could actually represent a minority of readers.

Which subreddits are his?

Why do we perceive time as moving at a particular rate? Do certain creatures (such as those with greater reaction times or who move quickly) literally perceive time as moving slower?[x-post from ELI5] by somehackerin askscience

[–]DavidIsPosting 0 points1 point ago

I don't know anything but isn't how we perceive time relative? Do all humans even perceive time as going as the same pace or do we only know that we are because of what we measure it to be. Example: Time went a lot slower when I was 4 years old, but now that I am 20 and experienced much more time, the time I'm experiencing seems to be less than when I was 4 since it's ratio to the total I've ever experienced is also much less. So time seems faster now. When I was 4 the days seemed much longer but only because I haven't experienced much time.

Not a science answer but just my own personal thought.

Why use the term African-American? by questionTimeELIFin explainlikeimfive

Wow that actually sounds more racist than not. You would distinguish them in any other attribute other than ethnicity or skin color.

Ahh okay. Thank you. I misinterpreted it.

This is late since I don't check replies too often but then isn't this what caused the "White Man's Burden" ideology? Even now, should we reign over India, Africa, and Middle East because we are more technologically advanced and therefore superior?

Just a question, how does hotlinked images make money? It doesn't show any ads or anything, why would anyone pay imgur for these hotlinked images?

What about people with tidy hair and using products to simulate that?

So does this mean if the human race were to experience a more primitive alien race, we should consider ourselves as god? Is this why we should reign over nature as we like? Because to them, we ARE god.

That's something you're right about. I haven't gotten sick ever since I got into college but it's something that is likely to happen.

It took me a month. The uberman cycle probably took 3-4 days. My cycle only started hitting bad during the 2nd week of adaptation.

Not buying a storage unit. The computer is being stored at a friends place with the trade of allowing her to use it any time (nice speakers, she likes parties). I already have a gym membership so I'm paying for that. Landromat is 75 cents a wash, 50 cents a dry but I'm already paying for that anyways.

Sleep: I'm polyphasic, trust me. I have judo in the evening and work in the early morning. I wouldn't even be able to get 5 hours of sleep. But I prefer it this way.

Shitting: Our park bathrooms don't have doors, they are the walk-in type.

Sex and Masturbation: I've never had sex at my place (Not with my current shut-in roommate). Masturbation is something I'm edging off. (No-Fap Subreddit).

Loitering: 24 hour study rooms all over the place! I'm weird and I like to learn stuff. I've read 6 textbooks out of the enjoyment of learning.

Social Stigma: Do I get angry? I strive on fucking criticism. So should everybody. But you're right, I won't know it until I'm homeless.

Sharing a Room: Currently am but won't be next week.

Alone Time: Study rooms and library. Both 24/7.

Thanks a lot, it is helpful.

Trust me, I'm a huge proponent of actually learning the damn material; unlike most students today.
