I never met my Nana, - or any of my grandparents, they died before I was born - but everyone said she was a kind, wonderful, lady, whenever I hear stories about her people always have such lovely things to say.

My sister gave me a pair of jade earrings that were my Nanas from when she was a teenager. I kept them locked in a jewellery box for seven years and took them out once to go on a date with my boyfriend.

Of course I lost one on the date, we went looking for it for hours but couldn't find it. A few months later I lost the other one.

I cried every night for several weeks because I was an awful person to have lost something from someone held so dear to everyone. A year later I broke down in tears and told mum and my sister. They said it's okay, but I still cry when I think about it.
