What I dislike about supports is that I find no satisfaction in playing them. Sure you can "get your carry kills" but in the end, its still all dependent on the AD Carry you're supporting to be competent and carry the game. I feel that its the most unsatisfying role also because you're stuck with healbots like Sona and Soraka who only have "clutch" mechanics in a very few points of the game, or you have to play against these heal bots. Personally, it would be awesome if more unconventional supports were started being used, but in the end, if they are up against those two heal bots, the lane is usually being won by them.

I think other than the Renegade-X mod you mentioned, nothing I've played is quite as unique as that game. Best bet would be Battlefield games, I had a tonne of fun playing Rush on Bad Company 2. Kinda sucks, good times in Renegade.. Good times.

Well he is technically considered a CC tank, I wasn't sure that you wanted a jungler that deals damage. Rammus wins games purely because he wins lanes for his team. If you do want something stronger damage wise, maybe look up Lee Sin or Nocturne guides as they clear the jungle fast and deal huge amounts of damage when farmed/fed.

As a start, I would suggest OddOne's Jungle Guide. This is purely as a way for you to hear the ramblings of a jungler. It is heavily outdated now after all the changes, but I feel as though the mindset of ganking and farming is still very similar to back then: http://www.solomid.net/guides.php?g=4307.

After this, I would just watch streams of Dan Dinh, saintvicious. Otherwise just practice and always remember that you should always be watching the minimap while jungling for seeing how the lanes do, and keeping an eye on the enemy jungler.

Try out Rammus as a jungler (in normals as he's starting to get banned) as, to me, he is the easiest jungler now, an extremely strong ganker, and clears his jungle with a single ability. Also now that jungle invasions are less frequent he is safer. Hope this starts you off.

To be fair, the slow on Randuin's is still nothing to scoff at, as it effectively boosts your chances of winning a fight. However, the armor component may have to come from elsewhere now.

Depends what role you plan on taking really. They can both handle top well, but Swain benefits the most of taking Top and Mid. Jarvan is a great jungler, fast, and can make a mean tank with his initiation, the ability to save carries with knockup and deal considerable damage while doing all of the above.

Summary: if you want a great damage over time and a very good late game, but weak early game, AP hero that solos very well, then Swain is better for you. But if you want a tank that deals good damage, can jungle well, initiate well, can solo effectively (not that common), and smack hoes in the face with his spearjavelin with very decent damage without items, then Jarvan is for you I think.

This is purely my opinion though as I own both champs.
