We have all dealt with crazy girls but this one tops them all! This is after 1 date by rmcoop27in funny

[–]BradJLamb 5 points6 points ago

I do feel bad for the girl. I also feel bad for the guy. It's always easier to think clearly about how he could or should have reacted when he's not getting a shitton of crazy texts from some scary woman. Plus, if she's like that from just a single date, who knows what she would do with further contact.

An example of what we will lose in 1.4.3 - qxc vs PuMa by DarthCaesarin starcraft

[–]BradJLamb 5 points6 points ago

Absolutely, and that's part of the reason why I don't like how blizzard went about the nerf. Seeing pros do things only pros can do is a large part of the reason I watch pros.

I feel like this shouldn't work by LeCracklingin starcraft

It's a good thing that should absolutely be kept in the game. What inconvenience? Zerg players should be rewarded for higher APM by being able to spread creep more effectively.

Situation Report: Patch 1.4.3 by NoBrainerin starcraft

[–]BradJLamb 3 points4 points ago

Ghost rushes TvT no longer work because they can't one shot non combat shield marines (not that it was common anyway). Snipe was however buffed against infestors. Kills in two shots now. Previously infestors would regen 1 health if the snipes weren't timed perfectly. Makes sense. If they're nerfing snipe against the t3 units, to give them a slight buff against the necessary support units for them. Also ghost vs ghost dies in less snipes I guess. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

DRG lost six drones in the initial rush. Losing only a single drone is basically impossible unless Nestea suddenly forgot how to a move.

IdrA and Huk - "This is why we can't have nice things greggors" by xhOzergin starcraft

[–]BradJLamb 1 point2 points ago

I am not. In cases where high templars with storm are out against mutas and you aren't hopelessly behind, you should have 1-2 high templars by each nexus, while continually adding more cannons as you approach when you want to move out, generally around max. Unless you react slowly, the cannons and any stalkers you warp, blink in, or just have standing around should buy enough time for you to walk your high templars to the mutas, and when they run out of storms you should have high templars from other bases walking over as well. Mutas have to get in close to attack things, and 9 range covers a pretty wide area around your base.

In a later game situation where the zerg has a gigantic muta ball, it isn't realistic to completely fend off harassment. It's probably gonna get pylons and gateways, but it's completely unrealistic to say that against a zerg with proper control, the zerg will never be hit by storms.

[–]BradJLamb 4 points5 points ago

You're the one who is absurd. Cannons, blink stalkers, multiple storms, unit acceleration, and most importantly the need to actually do something with the goddamn mutas.

Your point is that mutas can stay out of range of templars forever. That's true, but what the fuck do you do when there are templars in the army and templars in the mineral fields? Just idle the mutas somewhere? You have to engage somewhere, and if the protoss has good mouse accuracy and some sense of movement prediction he's going to land some storms or at least prevent the mutas from doing a lot of damage, and he can make the storms hit longer by using blink stalkers and cannons to herd the mutas in certain directions.

You're talking as if this was a muta ball against a high templar standing in the middle of a field.

4chan beats Reddit in Tribes Ascend bo5 match [X-post from /r/4chan] by Feylinin gaming

[–]BradJLamb 6 points7 points ago

I can imagine it's the same for pretty much every game

That's how the LoL subreddit was like. At the beginning, it was just this small group of guys who played to have fun. But then it became more popular and everybody started watching streams. After that there was always at least one or two guys in your games that would completely over-analyze everything, despite missing all their skills and getting hit by everything.

I really don't understand this. Unless you're some sort of genius/savant, you learn the basics before anything else. Just because you saw it done on tv/streams by a professional does not mean you can do it.

Stephano forfeits his finals spot in the ONOG, barcraft funded, $3,000 Invitational because 'he was tired' by andvrussin starcraft

[–]BradJLamb -2 points-1 points ago

So you're telling me that a lot of people will make a huge deal out of Stephano playing at less than his best in a single series and placing 2nd in a tournament after losing to one of, if not the best foreign terran, on the same day that he won another tournament, and that Stephano will somehow be devastated by it enough that quitting a tournament at the last minute because he's tired could be a reasonable alternative.

You do not make a good point.

[–]BradJLamb 2 points3 points ago

Compromise is definitely the best choice for ONOG. Just by looking at the comments in this thread there is a fairly sizeable group of people butthurt about him not just being handed 2nd place and having it end there. Imagine if he was fully disqualified.

Certainly completely disqualifying him would be the best way to enforce professionalism within their tournaments (though they already fumbled a bit there by not informing vileillusion that they postponed the match at stephano's request), but I'm pretty sure lessening the amount of hate mail is a higher priority for a smaller event.

Bailing at the last second on a match for first place in a tournament with a weak excuse is a million times worse for his image and career than playing in less than his top form with idiots possibly speculating about his play in the finals of a tournament right after winning another tournament earlier in the day.

There is no damned if he did. He's damned because he didn't.

In this day and age it is rather difficult to find people on "the facebooks" without knowing their name, phone number, or presumably email address.

I said in my first response that harassment is an inevitability. There is no obvious way to stop people from being dicks. I'm just saying that still doesn't make it ok. The guy I responded to wrote his post implying that it's okay to harass fat people because it's their fault that they are fat.

[–]BradJLamb 5 points6 points ago

If he were thin he probably wouldn't be made fun of for being fat. That's true. But it still does not justify harassment. Harassment being an inevitability because people are assholes does not justify it either. Nothing justifies the harassment.
