I'm a bit late to the party, but you all are the type who are still glad you showed up (much like a surprising proportion of the general population), so…

I can relate to the summer boredom. I focused on my classes midway through the semester rather than on finding summer research or internship opportunities. I'm lucky enough that even if nothing pans out, I won't be in huge debt, but I really would like to have my own car for the fall because in the US (and especially where I go to school), having a car means the closest thing to true freedom you can usually get. This will be a bit more important because my girlfriend will have a job, so I can't just borrow her car and pay for the gas whenever I need it. Anyway, the point is that I'm most likely stuck at home for the summer, 330 miles from the vast majority of my friends.

I used to be able to go about a month of being stuck at home before I stopped enjoying the time off and started to go bored out of my mind. Now, I started to get that feeling about a week and a half after being home. I can't easily go and party with former classmates at the nearby large university due to lack of transport and a tendency to enjoy myself to the fullest at those events.

I really would like to teleport a couple months into the future to start school again, then get stuck in a time loop for freshman move-in week.

I actually had more to say, but I either forgot it or don't have a sensible way to work it in.
