Just got a Mabook. Former PC user.. What should I know to start off??

To get the most from your trackpad, I would recommend looking for the app called BetterTouchTool in the app store. It allows you to assign a whole slew of multitouch gestures to pretty much any system action/key command you could imagine. It takes a little setting up, but once you have it set up how you like, you will fly around your mac like you wouldn't believe.

For starters, a few gestures that I've mapped:

Five-finger click = Ctrl-Q, closes out the current program.
Three-finger swipe up/down = tab switching in browsers. (BTT can do app specific gestures.
Three-finger click-swipe down = opens an app called Quicksilver, which will search and launch any app/document/file on your computer as you start typing the name.

No, preventing law-abiding citizens from procuring said bullet would not keep it out of the hands of those who would use it criminally. Homicide is illegal, does that end all homicide? Of course not. Unless you have a government who has the power to fully eliminate a such a tool across-the-board, simply disallowing it will only keep it out of the hands of the law abiding. This put the odds in the criminal's favor, and prevent the lawful citizen from protecting himself.

I'd give BetterTouchTool a try. Almost infinitely more multitouch gesture possibilities than the ones that come stock. You can map a huge list of custom gestures to a list of system tasks or any key command. Also, it allows the the option to make gestures application specific.

It will take a bit of configuring, but once you get it set up, you will be able to fly around your machine like nothing you could even imagine on a windows box.

While I stand on the fence regarding this issue, I agree that LouIchthys' reply does wrongly assume across-the-board stereotypical homosexual behavior such as that seen at a gay pride parade.

Irrational generalizations have no place in a discussion like this. Similar heterosexual promiscuity can be seen everywhere in Western culture. Ever heard of the SlutWalk? This sort of behavior is not limited to homosexuals, and we're only fooling ourselves by putting ourselves on a high horse by thinking it is.

The keyboard is glorious. I can type faster on this keyboard that any other. It feels very precise and it has a very short press distance which i believe allows you to type much faster. Anytime I use the older style keyboard, it just feels sloppy. If this is what's holding you back, you're hurting yourself man, the new stuff is amazing.

I'll probably do mine at Lodi where it costs $1000. I'd like to have enough money saved to do some jumps as well though, because from what I understand, if you don't jump at least once every 30 days once you have your Class A, you have to jump with an instructor to show your competence. This isn't a super big problem, but it would be nice to have enough cash to avoid this, and just get a skydive weekend in once a month or so.
