Check out this new subreddit /r/lucidstories its a place only to share your first LD or any LD experiences! by elperu27in LucidDreaming

[–]Alertness 1 point2 points ago

I personally feel that content flow on this subreddit is slow enough to where dividing the community up isn't entirely necessary. It's not that I don't agree with the idea, it's more or less that it isn't needed right now, in my opinion.

Edit: Again, I am NOT against the idea.

Sigh...woke up this morning from a dream, grabbed the journal to write it down and ..... nothing.. by OklahomaHossin LucidDreaming

Every time you wake up (or think you've woke up), do a reality check.

Longest LD You've Ever Had by Nemanzinin LucidDreaming

[–]Alertness 4 points5 points ago

The longest one I've had (which was actually just three days ago) lasted roughly ten minutes. The other three before it only lasted five or ten seconds.

How to Kill with the Defibrillator by barbaricmustardin battlefield3

[–]Alertness 0 points1 point ago

On PC at least, you do not need to aim your crosshairs at the person. As long as you're looking at where they are, you can be looking up and away from them and still kill. Same with reviving fallen teammates (you can just look straight ahead and still revive).

Need help to remember to perform reality checks. by NastyNazicarin LucidDreaming

[–]Alertness 0 points1 point ago*

If you spend a majority of your time on a computer, then this may help you. Every time it states the time (you are able to set whatever interval you think is best), remember to do a reality check. I usually like to get up from my chair and analyze my room in detail.

If you aren't usually at a computer, do a reality check every time you pass through a door, whenever you see a friend, or you can come up with your own set of events to hopefully trigger the thought to do a reality check.

Reality checks should come naturally when you truly involve yourself into the idea of Lucid Dreaming, I feel. Try to question if you're truly in reality / dreaming whenever possible, even after you've recently done a reality check.

Thanks, I'll keep this in mind next time. I don't know why I thought closing my eyes would help, haha.

So... you can LD while taking naps? I've never taken a nap in over six years, maybe I should get back into the habit of doing so.

I find getting to sleep easier on my stomach. For some reason I think more if I'm lying on my back.

Successful RC, failed LD by pcrane2010in LucidDreaming

A somewhat similar thing happened to me yesterday morning. Somehow I realized I was dreaming, knew I was dreaming, but wasn't able to consciously understand I was dreaming... if that makes any sense. Sooo close... :l

Aids for Lucid Dreams? by SilentHipsterin LucidDreaming

[–]Alertness 1 point2 points ago*

Though I don't have the sources on hand, here's a list of what I've heard probably help:

Food:

  • Bananas
  • Peanut Butter - After ingesting PB and Apple Juice before bed, I did notice that my dream was more clear and I could recall the dream well enough. Though, this may of just been a random occurrence. I don't know for sure.

Beverages:

  • Apple Juice

Audio:

  • Binaural Beats
  • Subliminal Audio

Edit: You can also sort through this forum section of Dream Views to see some Lucid Dreaming aids (sorted by most replies).

Foods/Drinks to help with Dream Recall by dsummerhillin LucidDreaming

[–]Alertness 1 point2 points ago

I've read on DreamViews that Peanut Butter ingested before going to sleep may or may not increase the vividness of dreams. There was also the mention in another thread of a PB & Banana sandwich.

I'm going to make a PB sandwich tonight (with the addition of also trying out subliminal audio) to see if I still can't get my first LD. :)

No successful LD yet...need help. by WholeWheelofCheesein LucidDreaming

[–]Alertness 0 points1 point ago

I know this doesn't contribute anything, but I'm in the exact same boat as you.

I first found out about Lucid Dreaming about two months ago, and still no success to this day, though I've only recently found out about the actual techniques involved about a week or two ago. I'll get it eventually, I guess. :)
