What is the saddest thing you've ever witnessed? by RastaMomin AskReddit

[–]Akathos 1 point2 points ago

That...that's just awesome. Literally, awesome.

Riding alone? by snarktopusin MTB

[–]Akathos 0 points1 point ago

Do it, it's awesome. Pick some trails you know, pick some nice tunes and you can just focus on your own riding instead of having to wait for others/having others waiting on you.

But, like others said, bring equipment! I learned that the hard way, had to walk about 1000 vertical meters home after my tire blew and I didn't have a spare.

A colleague of me fixed it using this code.

That's what I'm doing now, but I don't like that. I'd much rather have everything in my source code instead of using external applications.

If I'm correct, that's a scene from the latest film by Anthill Films: From the Inside Out. I think this scene also features an insane train gap...

It's awesome!

Using the right framework prevents almost all these issues. For example Symfony (a PHP framework) does all these things for you (using Doctrine et al.).

ELI5: The holographic universe theory by Hu_datin explainlikeimfive

[–]Akathos 6 points7 points ago

Well, that isn't really LI5. I'll try to translate it for a five year old for you:

The universe is a library, when I ask you: "How many books can you store inside a library?" you will probably say that the amount of books you can store inside the library is the total volume of the library (which makes sense). In the case of the holographic principle, the number of books you can store in the library (our universe, remember) is the same as the total surface of the library, which is a pretty strange idea. You can, as the poster above me said, prove this with mathematics but it doesn't have a real implication for our daily lives. It makes a difference on the scale of the extremely tiny things (M-theory).

To the poster above me, the OP and anyone interested: I can suggest reading The Cosmic Landscape by Dr. Leonard Susskind.

Hahaha, I love this!

If they're all talking, who is listening? And if none is listening, why even bother talking?

You can always use Twitter Bootstrap. It's pretty easy to use and is a real kickstarter when starting a new design.
