I think it's a matter of the concept having absolutely nothing to do with the product. What does "never hide" even mean in respect to wearing sunglasses? It says "we support gay culture so buy our product." It seems pretty tacky to me.

Isn't it just as viable to run Kritz on a 5CP map? You'll get your kritz charge 10 seconds before they get their medi-gun charge so as long as you're super aggressive and pop immediately you can dish out a ton of damage and (ideally) take out their medic before he gets a charge.

The same mentality would also work in the middle of the round if both medics go down at the same time. A quick switch over to kritz will give you the uber advantage and could potentially take the other team off-guard.

I think Seafarers is a wonderful expansion whose primary function is to give you a bit more variety and a lot more real estate. You might find when playing with four players on the standard board that the slowest/unluckiest expander might get cornered somewhere. Seafarers gives you a lot more room to breathe and I think coincidentally balances the board a bit more. If I have the option I'll never play a game of Catan without Seafarers for just that reason!

Cities and Knights is also a wonderful expansion though it really changes the mechanics. It adds a lot of depth and coincidentally a lot of time to the game. It makes for a great game but playing with or without it is really dependent on what kind of mood you're in then.

You'll see spies come out every once in a while in 6v6 for just that reason; Since most people aren't spy checking constantly you'll be more apt to get a key pick. Running spy the entire time is much less of a possibility since a team should know where everyone else on their team is the whole time. Since it's so much easier to keep track of 6 people instead of 12 it becomes painfully obvious when a third soldier or second demoman comes wandering up from behind.

I feel like this is a good place to mention as a PSA that the cart's speed actually caps at 3x so anything beyond that is indeed pointless to stack on the cart. Leave your scout and sniper to the cart and start clearing the way!
