... dressed as a Tully? They're blue/red... but the only families that could afford a dress like that might be the Tarly's, Tyrells, Lannisters, or Westerlings...

A graphical comparison shows the amount of water on Jupiter's moon Europa as compared with Earth's water. Its subsurface ocean plus ice layer could range from 80 to 170 kilometers in average depth [1024x768] by mepperin spaceporn

Sadly I'm quite busy today, but if you send me a message tomorrow, I might be able to find the source.

Yes, it is the rotation of the core that causes the magnetic field, but if it was an average sized core for a planet of our size, the magnetic field would not significantly extend beyond our surface.

How do you figure? Isn't the ESA getting ready to send a mission to tour the Jovian moons?

Wasn't there recently a nasa candidate mission that proposed sending an unmanned probe there? A boat probe?

Yes. On both accounts. Quit being so jaded.

as long as I live, I will never forget that comment. That was the day we had to retire the russia jokes in earnest.

What has been your most painful physical experience? by forgetabouttheclownin AskReddit

[–]AZRugger 0 points1 point ago

I have a couple. I count myself thankful that I haven't had to experience what some of the people in this thread have experienced.

1) Passing a kidney stone. A very small one.

2) Once I ran too far - above my limit - with a running buddy of mine. We did over a half marathon without training for it. I hit "the wall". Extremely painful.

3) This one, I think takes it: I bruised my heel once during rugby practice. I did not have a back-up for the game, so the team doc asked if I'd like a shot in my heel to dull the pain. The shot went in the bottom of my heel. Let me give you a point of advice: NEVER GET A SHOT IN YOUR FOOT.

What is the saddest thing you've ever witnessed? by RastaMomin AskReddit

[–]AZRugger 3 points4 points ago

It breaks my heart to think about.

It shouldn't, eh? Steak, and a perfect night, followed by a very painless death surrounded by loved ones the next morning? We should all have it so easy.

When we had to put my childhood dog down, he got Chimichangas for his last meal, and I spent the night in his bed. It's sad, but it's sad in a good way, you know?

Glad you were there. I'm sure your dog was too. I'm not trying to be glib, but look on the bright side: A seizure is not a bad way to go.

That is not sad. That's beautiful, and you gave him the best possible ending.

Hold your head high.

Nah. I bitch here because I like to keep up with WoW, hoping that they'll stop phoning it in - therefore its on my frontpage. Every once in a while though, something strikes me as incredibly lazy on the developer's part.

Riot really delivered on the FPS increase they promised. by fomorianin leagueoflegends

dip to 10-15 during team fights

I run at a constant 12fps. in or out of fights

If it really does double for me, its going to feel really odd (pretty much ever game runs at about 12)

You're probably right. Difference is, I actually let my account lapse when they piss me off instead of continuing to eat their shit.

I once got severely dehydrated after a sonoran hotdog and taco eating contest. My girlfriend at the time came over and not only took care of me through all my puking and shitting, she also cleaned my apartment.

... Yes, I wifed her.

Scientists have identified thousands of sites in the Arctic where methane that has been stored for many millennia is bubbling into the atmosphere. by darohitsterin science

Hint: read up on the carbon cycle.

I'm absolutely certain he's going to do that.

I don't think it means what you think it means.

Man made GW could have brought us to this point - the methane seeps will just provide more heating.
