Castle Crashers.

[–]keltinn 1 point2 points ago

what the camino said!

[–]Rory_B_Bellows 18 points19 points ago

You Don't Know Jack is great for up to 4 players.

[–]TheFarceUnleashed 5 points6 points ago

This is one of the most underrated trivia games out there at the moment. Its fun, funny, and it comes with 73 different trivia games, each lasting about 15 minutes. Great game!

[–]Wifflepig 5 points6 points ago

I played this years ago on the PC - such a long time ago. Was overjoyed to see it come out for the XBOX and WII. My family has been having a great time with this.

[–]Rory_B_Bellows 2 points3 points ago

The fact that it retails for about $30 doesn't hurt, either.

[–]TheFarceUnleashed 2 points3 points ago

Yeah its also available for direct download in the marketplace but you can get it cheaper in stores. I think I got my copy on sale for $20.

My issue with YDKJ is how much that final round can sometimes usually nullifies the previous two.

If you like 2d indie games, check out my game Take Arms for only $1 on XBLIG. It supports up to 8 players over LIVE and has DM, TDM and CTF. http://discordgames.com/?page_id=264

Downloaded and played this tonight. Great work man. I'm very impressed. I love me some 2d games in this style. Keep up the good work.

I'm pretty sure I can talk all of my friends (ok, both of them) into buying this at this price. Thanks for the plug!

[–]sensorium7 0 points1 point ago

Awesome, thanks man! Glad to hear you enjoyed it.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points ago

You made take arms?! Awesome! That game is really great!!

OP, also get Speedrunner HD and Hidden in Plain Sight.

[–]thedangaranga[S] 1 point2 points ago

This game looks fun man. We'll be downloading it tonight for sure!

[–]jbigboote 4 points5 points ago

I had a blast playing Blur, it supports 4-players locally via split screen. it has a lot of similarities to Mario Kart.

also the Rock Band games are fun, and RB3 can be played by I believe a max of seven people. though you do have to invest in a lot of plastic instruments and microphones to do that. I like RB better than Guitar Hero, but some people prefer GH games.

[–]voldak 1 point2 points ago

More specifically, we are looking for something that supports 4-8 players on live.

We have burnt ourselves out on COD/BF3 and it's starting to take a toll on our friendships.

[–]barnes80 0 points1 point ago

Sport games typically allow at least 4 people. I really love the NHL franchise. Also fighting games like Super Street Fighter 4 all you to all que in the same lobby and fight each other 2 at a time so you could have 4 matches going on at once.

Borderlands is technically a FPS but its co-op. Same with the Left 4 Dead games Technically shooters but not your standard team death match style games.

Also racing games, although I don't really have any to suggest. Hot Pursuit was fine I guess.

Edit: Forgot about Halo Wars. Basically a watered down version of Star Craft. I believe it supports up to 4 players. Also Gears of War 3 is 3rd person shooter and a lot of fun.

[–]jbigboote 1 point2 points ago

Blur and Rock Band both work over Live just fine.

[–]thedangaranga[S] 1 point2 points ago

Voldak speaks the truth.....the tolls are great. Who will save us?!

[–]purpleshadow6000 5 points6 points ago

FPS stands for First Person Shooter. Apparently people dont know that

[–]FaceFive 7 points8 points ago

Borderlands. Best 4 player Co-op and hours of DLC.

[–]txmslm 2 points3 points ago

is that fps style?

[–]Minyme2009 1 point2 points ago

It's very FPS, but it also does enough to separate itself from most other FPS's. Differing enemys, unique art style, and Dat loot.

[–]jbigboote 0 points1 point ago

yes but co-op only.

[–]FaceFive -2 points-1 points ago

It's not FPS in the COD sense. It's open world, mission based with loads of side quests.

[–]felisbino 5 points6 points ago

FIFA 12 or FORZA 4

[–]TheFarceUnleashed 0 points1 point ago

Beware of the fifa hacks though!

[–]babycheeses 2 points3 points ago

They are playing on Xbox LIVE -- what hacks are you talking about?

[–]03Titanium 0 points1 point ago

You don't even need to play FIFA to be attacked. It's more of a phishing or security breach on another website with same login info. Considering how many people have been attacked if say they found a good source.

Microsoft allows you to trade ultimate team so it's a simple loophole around trading Microsoft points for the most popular sport in the world.

[–]Gobizku 1 point2 points ago

The "fifa hacks" are neither hacks nor are they done through Fifa itself.

I wishwhen people didn't know what they were talking about they just didn't say anything.

[–]TheFarceUnleashed -1 points0 points ago

I was just kidding about the FIFA hacks...I only said it because any time that game is mentioned people go nuts about the security issues.

[–]Kazeek 3 points4 points ago

RISK

[–]npkimmey 0 points1 point ago

I second this, although making secret alliances with people can get kind of complicated. But maybe that's just me. :)

[–]sisko2k5 2 points3 points ago

Catan and Worms!

[–]tyalka93 0 points1 point ago

Crackdown 2. 4 player co-op FTW!

[–]kkurbs 0 points1 point ago

Apples to Apples is cute and fun. Can be played local co-op or via Live

[–]orange_jooze 2 points3 points ago

Cards against Humanity is much better

[–]thedangaranga[S] 3 points4 points ago

Age of Booty!

[–]Brandaman 1 point2 points ago

I know it's an FPS, but Borderlands is an amazing 4 player co-op game.

[–]zPoc 1 point2 points ago*

Earth defense force: Insect Armageddon does 3 on Live. 6 on survival.

There's the old school beat'em ups on arade : Simpsons, Xmen, TMNT, etc...

Also, Castle Crashers.

Edit: I forgot about Culdcept (sp), rpg/boardgame hybrid. Haven't played the 360 one, but the one on ps2 was awesome.

[–]ViciousAffinity20 0 points1 point ago

command and conquer: Red alert 3 ... Great game but they do need to make a new one, and its only 4 player max.

[–]Pastlife123 1 point2 points ago

Raskulls, a great XBLA game with awesome game mechanics (Local & XBL multiplayer) Raskulls

[–]jsmith02 1 point2 points ago

GTA 4. You can have 16 people on one map if you play free mode.

[–]AmuseDeath 0 points1 point ago

Honestly I'm fairly tired of the common multiplayer games... CoD, Halo... there's not much true innovation.

The two games I like to play are Age of Booty and Total Miner. AoB is a teambased strategy game that emphasizes coordination. Total Miner is a Minecraft like game that you can have up to 24 players in.

[–]the_infiniti 1 point2 points ago

Dungeon Defenders. This game has got to be one of the greatest games I've purchased on XBL to play with friends. It's a tower-defense game that allows you to take control of a character to level up and can spend skill points to your liking, so it also has that RPG feel. I would definitely recommend checking out the demo.

[–]RastachronicR4ST4CHRONIC-NBA 2k12 0 points1 point ago

Has Marvel Ultimate Alliance been mentioned yet? Fun dungeon-crawl with a good cast of characters.

[–]Minyme2009 0 points1 point ago

Mortal Kombat

I'm not sure if Mortal Kombat ever got it's shit figured out, but there was a King of the Hill mode that was fun as hell to play. It's 1v1, which everyone else spectating, cheering, and having a good time. Winner stays, loser moves to the back of the line. When it came out it had horrible lag, so I'm not sure if it got any better.

[–]calamityphysics 1 point2 points ago

4 = dungeon defenders. So amazingly awesome.

[–]TheRealJohnMatrix 1 point2 points ago

Hidden in Plain sight.

AWESOME indie game for 4 player local play only. It costs less than a dollar and is ingenious fun!!

[–]vdubstep 0 points1 point ago

Truely the best 4player coop game, only a buck, try it

[–]CRAGEWRAITH 0 points1 point ago

well there's always this...

[–]orange_jooze 0 points1 point ago

Scene it! series.

[–]burt_macklin_fbi 0 points1 point ago

Worms 2: Armageddon is a BLAST if you have 4 people that know what they're doing...

My friends and I will also play Full House Poker when we're feeling casual...

[–]rmblack 0 points1 point ago

Trials Evolution (ever play the flash game trials bike pro? yeah. It is the same guys, except now it's 3D and has a shit ton more cool shit in it.)

LOTR: Battle in the North (3 player, but fucking awesome. Think baldurs gate LOTR style.

[–]jbigboote 0 points1 point ago

Just remembered the Left 4 Dead games. they are kind of FPS, but they support up to eight players on Live, plus local split-screen on Live, and half the time you are playing as infected, so no guns or other conventional weapons. My friends and I had so many hours of fun playing versus matches.

[–]theamazingroberto 6 points7 points ago

they are kind of FPS

"kind of fps", in that it is an fps

[–]richalex2010 -1 points0 points ago

It's not in the same category as COD and BF3, which they were playing before, so it may be of some help still.

[–]orange_jooze -1 points0 points ago

Umm, he didn't say anything about what they were playing before.

[–]richalex2010 0 points1 point ago

OP didn't, but one of the friends did

[–]richalex2010 0 points1 point ago

OP didn't, but one of the friends did

[–]sm4k -1 points0 points ago

I'm surprised Gears of War 3 isn't on the list yet. 4 player story coop, 5 player horde/beast mode. Halo Reach being right along side it with 4 player campaign coop.

I've probably had the most fun with some of the arcade games that aren't actually multiplayer. Geometry Wars 2 and PacMan Championship Edition DX are hella fun when you've got a legit high score competition going.

I wanna say Red Dead Redemption supports 8 player parties in MP, but I could be wrong.

[–]mynameisvlad -1 points0 points ago

... Because he asked for non-FPS?
