I'd rather see him do that than kneel and point at the sky.

Those are the only choices? What about the traditional, thank the crowd?

Agassi was the best at this.

Though Fed's finger wave after beating Djok at the French Open last year was probably the most awesome victory dance of all time.

link? i can't remember what this looked like

Agreed. Fed is in my opinion is the classiest finisher. Imagine if Roger danced circles around the court pointing to myself? It would be just wrong. I still don't know how Tsonga gets away with it. Tennis is not a teamsport, but come on. He didn't get where he is all by himself.

Federer is classy as you can get when he wins. But when he loses... That's another story.

Guy hates to lose. Who doesn't?

Everybody hates to lose, but many still act classy when they do.

when you lose less then 10% of the time, it's different.

Without a coach, its all him. Specially when he plays a gnarly first round. I was afraid he'd lose the 4th set and lose his concentration. I'm more curious about the rock paper dynamite motion. Has he always done that? I've never noticed.

It's a reference to his resemblance to Muhammad Ali.

He maybe an atheist feeling that all the attention focused on sports currently is the whole "Tebow" thing. Instead of pointing to the sky, he wants to proclaim that his ability comes within him and not a "god"

[–]gman311 5 points6 points ago

haha no, he's been doing that LONG before Tebow came along.

[–]reviloto 2 points3 points ago

I really doubt that tsonga even knows who tebow is.

[–]diminishedfifth -1 points0 points ago

If I hear about Tebow on NPR, he probably knows who Tebow is.

[–]reviloto 1 point2 points ago

He's french. Unless he is an NFL fan or reads r/atheism, chances are he doesn't know. Nobody outside the US cares about Tebow.

[–]diminishedfifth 0 points1 point ago

He maybe French, but if he has ever been to the states since Tebow has been in college...he may know who he is...just cause he's French doesn't mean they don't have ESPN or some sport equivalent over there?! I'm an American and I love futbol more then any sport...but how is that so??!?! Americans don't love futbol, they love baseball, or football.

[–]reviloto 1 point2 points ago

Ok, this is my perspective, as a European. I have family in the states, I'm there at least once a year, I watch American football once the post season starts, when it starts to get exciting. I had no idea who Tim Tebow was until a week ago. We do have sports channels over here, but as far as I know, france doesn't have a 24 hour sports news channel, and even if it did, I still highly doubt Tebow would be given more than a five minute summation, and them only as an example of how ridiculous l'americans can be. If you really think that Tsonga should know who Tebow is, then you need to realize that baseball, basketball and American football are not as global as you think.

Yes maybe "should" wasn't the correct word I should have used, I apologize, but trust me I have realized that our sports here are not "world sports" hence forth why I enjoy futbol so much cause it's something I can talk to the world about. But thanks for the info about the sports station in France. Also do you enjoy your stay in the states when you visit?
