The best part about Glenn Beck is how all my southern baptist friends try to rationalize his faith away as they hate mormons almost as much muslims. Then they talk about how Obama is a secret muslim.

Every now and again on big things (the Fox News sponsors terrorism bit this week I can deal with)? Sure. All the goddamn time? No.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Daily Show. I watch it every day. Sadly, I get bored with the cable TV personality wars really, really quickly (I seriously do not and could not give a shit about Maddow, O'Reilly, Beck, Olbermann, or anyone). And when Stewart brings out that stupid chalkboard (funny the first time, yawn since) or starts up any other kind of talking head mockery, I hit ff and move on. Though I do like the Go Fuck Yourself choir. That's still funny.

Also, people who watch Fox News for serious and aren't aware of all of the lies and stupidity probably aren't watching The Daily Show later that night to find out how mislead they're being. So in that sense, it becomes a bit of a dead-horse-beating situation, anyway.

I, for one, am thankful for Glenn Beck. W/o his daily reality shattering rants, the Colbert Report writers would not have won those Emmys. Also the simple phrase "I really like Glenn Beck." lets me know that I can probably talk the speaker out of all the money in his, or her, wallet and sell that person a piece of the Louisiana coastline sometime within the next hour. It's very helpful.
