LMAO at the ref who messed up that behind that back pass which resulted into a delay of game. haha

[–]arepeegee 2 points3 points ago

That was fantastic, I hope it gets called out on SportsNation

[–]MaverickMMA 6 points7 points ago

I know it's been said 10000 times, but Kendrick Perkins is such a GREAT pick up for Thunder.

[–]CelticsStigNasti 7 points8 points ago

Celtics fan here. I'll be crying in the corner.

[–]MaverickMMA 4 points5 points ago

Hey, Celtics did get Brandon Bass. He looked fantastic out there today.

[–]CelticsStigNasti 3 points4 points ago

He looked fantastic out there today.

He definitely looked good out there, but I can't say the same about the Celtics as a whole.

[–]MaverickMMA 1 point2 points ago

Despite the loss, I have to at least give the Celtics kudos for managing to narrow the margin in the second half. If the Knicks remain as aggressive as they were in their game today, they could be a legitimate threat to any team in the league. I'd say the loss today is nothing to be ashamed of. Plus, once Pierce steps in there you'll have a consistent mid range shooter.

[–]bitingaddict 1 point2 points ago

Pierce being out really really hurt us. Brandon Bass pulling his weight today made me really REALLY happy that we got rid of BB. I'm gonna miss Davis' personality, but I won't miss hit fatness.

[–]almshang 1 point2 points ago

[–]CelticsStigNasti 0 points1 point ago

Oh god.. and to think I had almost forgotten that failed dunk.

[–]MaverickMMA 6 points7 points ago

I wish James Harden was a starter.

[–]gregm1 3 points4 points ago

Don't care if he's a starter, I just want him to play 25+ min

[–]dareupgang 1 point2 points ago

great point, he doesn't have to start he brings a lot of energy of the bench, very similar to what Jamal Crawford did for Atlanta

[–]Ifucknbleedpurpngold 3 points4 points ago

so does my fantasy team

[–]DeliriumOfDisorder 6 points7 points ago

THAT BEARD!

[–]gregm1 4 points5 points ago

Fear it!

[–]bitingaddict 12 points13 points ago

Kendrick Perkins:
Every single Celtics fan misses you.

Big Baby Davis:
Thanks for Brandon Bass.

[–]CelticsStigNasti 6 points7 points ago

Kendrick Perkins: Every single Celtics fan misses you.

especially a Perkins that lost ~30 pounds.

[–]bitingaddict 2 points3 points ago

If we could have him back, I'd take him with a 30lb backpack on.

[–]CelticsStigNasti 2 points3 points ago

Heh, likewise. Long time Celtics fan here and I loved what Perkins brought to the team.

[–]sdquinn 2 points3 points ago

And Pietrus. Looking at your bench reminds me of ours 2 years ago.

[–]leapyquacky[S] 4 points5 points ago

Perk with the beautiful dropoff to Collison!

[–]Salva_Veritate 4 points5 points ago

Remember when it was 16-11 Magic 4 minutes in the first quarter? Currently, 16 minutes have passed and OKC has outscored Orlando 37 to 15. Insane.

[–]MaverickMMA 8 points9 points ago

Does any crowd get more into than Thunder fans? I swear it's college level atmosphere when they play at home.

[–]dmwatson 8 points9 points ago

The Westbrook-to-Durant throwdown gave me chills.

[–]Honor_Bound 2 points3 points ago

You should be there, loudest games I've ever been to.

[–]Earl_Sinclair 5 points6 points ago

So, someone please explain to me why the national media tries to play up the non-existent animosity between russ and kd?

ESPN will get their story, whether they have to make it up or not.

[–]d1blet 2 points3 points ago

More like the media wants there to be animosity between the two...

[–]Honor_Bound 0 points1 point ago

Animosity? I haven't heard anything like that

[–]matko5 6 points7 points ago

doris burke as a commentator? wat.

[–]bitingaddict 21 points22 points ago

Doris knows her shit, I don't hate on her.

[–]almshang 6 points7 points ago

"I'd really like to see Glen Davis in really good shape"

I'm sure you would Doris.

[–]leapyquacky[S] 9 points10 points ago

I was hoping they waived her during the offseason.

[–]morpheo 2 points3 points ago

i guess thats what happens wen you have 5 games on national tv lool

[–]Provid3nce 2 points3 points ago

DAT Doris....wait what?

[–]inkoso 1 point2 points ago

i thought i would only hear her on 2k and rarely in games, now i have to listen to hear talk extensively? where is my Van Gundy?

[–]bitingaddict 1 point2 points ago

VanGundy called the Celtics / Knicks game earlier today. He publicly asked why NBA League Pass isn't 4/5ths the price since they're playing 4/5ths the season.

[–]ruri-iro 0 points1 point ago

I was confused as well. She's well informed though. Except for the fact that she wouldn't stfu about the Magic all game long. I mean, I know it's a big deal, with Howard possibly going elsewhere, but there was a long stretch where she didn't even acknowledge that the Thunder was playing. :/

[–]calamityphysics 3 points4 points ago

She is fantastic. Only female commentator in any sport I can handle. I think it's because she has a manly voice.

[–]Earl_Sinclair 3 points4 points ago*

I like Cheryl Miller as well.

Edit: I can't spell first names.

[–]bitingaddict 0 points1 point ago

I really like me some Cheryl Miller. I like Reggie, too.

[–]calamityphysics 7 points8 points ago

Just occurred to me - one magic player would crack okc's starting lineup. Talent gulf between these teams is enormous.

[–]Ifucknbleedpurpngold 2 points3 points ago

I might take richardson over sef

[–]Infant-Blender 4 points5 points ago

It'd be hard to justify that after his performance so far though.

/angry JRich fantasy owner.

[–]Ifucknbleedpurpngold 2 points3 points ago

Don't jump to conclusions after one game. I definitely stopped my self from doing so. Unless you had him last year, then it's totally justified.

[–]Infant-Blender 1 point2 points ago

Oh yeah I completely agree, even with 66 games it's a long season. I'm just saying based off his performance so far, but things can obviously change real quick in the Association.

[–]Ifucknbleedpurpngold 0 points1 point ago

Yeah I noticed that specification and silently applauded it. Just making sure. He's on team where he gets minutes and open looks from Dwight, and he shot well last year so even a decent drop and he'd still be a good player.

[–]piglet24 4 points5 points ago

Sefolosha is one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA, don't know if anything Richardson does is on that level

[–]ruri-iro 2 points3 points ago

I don't know. Sef made more shots than him tonight. Plus he's looked better offensively since he's come back from the lockout. It might actually be worth keeping him in the starting lineup now.

And as far as the talent goes, in actuality, they're all pretty good at their roles, if their communication was well, existent. They kind of remind me how the Cavs were with Lebron. Alone they don't really account for much, but because they communicated well and were very fluid with knowing when to hand the ball to their star, they went pretty far. I see the Magic as the same way as that.

[–]jive_turkey 0 points1 point ago

Richardson is a shadow of his former self, settles for way too many 3 pointers and cant attack the basket for shit, people in ORL have been calling for more minutes for JJ, and he's starting to get a bigger chunk of the PT.

[–]jive_turkey 0 points1 point ago

Thanks Otis!

[–]sdquinn 2 points3 points ago

And just like that - this game is tied. Stupid, stupid stupid mistakes by the Magic.

[–]jtoj 3 points4 points ago

So JVG and Breen flew into Oakland from Dallas? cool.

[–]eightyfour 2 points3 points ago

lol nice pass ref.

[–]sdquinn 7 points8 points ago

Let's go Magic!

[–]d1blet 2 points3 points ago

What a way to start the half with a +1 by Westbrook

[–]Micste 2 points3 points ago

Perkins's maybe slim now, but his short-temper is still there. Why can't he just let it go? That shove on Howard was really unnecessary.

[–]MaverickMMA 2 points3 points ago

That's just Perkins. I've come to accept it.

[–]beat_the_heat 3 points4 points ago

Otis shoulda traded Howard at halftime

[–]almshang 0 points1 point ago

Oh god Doris Burke is calling this game ಠ_ಠ

[–]morpheo 0 points1 point ago

looking forward to how good of a job perkins can do gaurding dwight

[–]sdquinn 0 points1 point ago

Have the Magic not scored on an offensive possession yet? I'm liking this production.

Edit: 7-8. Never Mind. Still damn good.

[–]RobotKitten 0 points1 point ago

It's a shootout!

[–]Salva_Veritate 0 points1 point ago*

Jesus, 16-11 and we're not even a third of the way through the first quarter. Also DWIGHT HOWARD, WITH MAXIMUM AUTHORITY!

Edit: lol 18-18. This game is amazingly fun to watch so far.

[–]blueberryy 1 point2 points ago

Really excited to see Dwight play again, hopefully his offense got even better

[–]sdquinn 0 points1 point ago

I wish J-Rich wouldn't have posted that 3 up there - I know it's his shot, but we've produced better when we work the ball in the post.

[–]gregm1 4 points5 points ago

yeah, the magic shooting 3's? what's up with that?

[–]Lloyd_Christm4s_ 0 points1 point ago

They are not a 3 point team anymore

[–]gregm1 1 point2 points ago

This is news.. I have to say I haven't watched the magic a whole lot, but what kind of team are they? A sizeable portion of their points came for 3s.. Anderson, Richardson, Redick, Duhon.. they're great 3point shooters

[–]Lloyd_Christm4s_ 1 point2 points ago

I mean they really have a little size now. With Howard, Big Baby, and Hedo they need to play the post. I am not a big fan of Anderson so I guess I am kinda biased. He is solid from the arch though. Just wish they would use their size more

[–]piglet24 0 points1 point ago

I was watching that presason game the other night, I kept facepalming wondering why they just don't look for Dwight in the post on every pass. Really frustrating to watch

[–]matko5 1 point2 points ago

this is going to be an awesome game

[–]fart_jar 1 point2 points ago

looks like Perkin's weight loss hasn't hurt his strength any

[–]MagicDribDrubs 1 point2 points ago

J rich passes it to no one. Magic have talent, but with no leader we will always make stupid mistakes and take bad shots.

[–]Lloyd_Christm4s_ 0 points1 point ago

Just like Gilbert

[–]Provid3nce 1 point2 points ago

Orlando, Y U NO put ball into basket?

[–]gregm1 0 points1 point ago

Is doris doing commentary this season? No more sideline reporting?

[–]calamityphysics 0 points1 point ago

She did a ton of commentary last year I believe. Pretty sure she called the entirety of at least one thunder playoff series.

[–]gregm1 0 points1 point ago

I only know her as "Doris is on the sideline talking to ..., Doris?" She always reminded me of Scully

[–]jtoj 0 points1 point ago

who is the commenter talking? every single player wants to win not just Deron/Dwight.

[–]ruri-iro 0 points1 point ago

I'm so glad someone else caught that. She just went on this long ass tangent about Dwight/Magic/Deron and I was just thinking "...Does she realize there's a game going on?"

[–]Micste 1 point2 points ago

After 1st quarter, OKC is playing a bit like kids in the fog. Also, 3 assists for Durant (He averaged 2.7 last season) and dat Harden's beard.

[–]Earl_Sinclair 1 point2 points ago

All Dae

[–]jtoj 0 points1 point ago

jeez JRich missing everything.

[–]Lloyd_Christm4s_ 1 point2 points ago

The Magic really need to make some moves

[–]thisisweaksauce -1 points0 points ago

They should try and get Andrew Bynum.

[–]Purecorrupt 0 points1 point ago

Dwight is soooo Loosey Goosey.

[–]piglet24 0 points1 point ago

I don't think he has anything invested in this team. Like Carmelo last year

[–]sdquinn 0 points1 point ago

Neither team wants the ball right now. Jeez.

[–]GodEmperorBrian 0 points1 point ago

Imagine if this one had the offensive game of this one

[–]MaverickMMA -1 points0 points ago

Ignorant comment made about Rutger Park players or is he speaking the truth?

[–]ruri-iro 0 points1 point ago

I'll go half and half. I thought it was ignorant at first, and in a way it is. Those Rutger guys aren't NBA level, true, but they're still professionals, for the most part. They're all tough, from what I've heard and seen, so it's not like Durant was posting up on say you or I. That's why I was kinda like "wtf?" when he said that. It's still impressive to post that type of score at Rutger, I mean everyone's already calling it legendary, so regardless of it being at NBA level or not, it's still shows that Durant goes in on gametime.

[–]MaverickMMA 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, it just struck me as something very amateurish to say. Sixty six points is sixty six points. Unless he's playing middle schoolers.

[–]MaverickMMA 0 points1 point ago

Very pleased with the result. I really hope Thunder pull of the championship this year. I'm going to pass on Clippers and Warriors. Enjoy the rest of your Christmas Day basketball Redditors.

[–]DeliriumOfDisorder 0 points1 point ago

I'm not sure if the comfortable win, yet somewhat average performance is more an example of how good the Thunder are, or how bad the Magic is.

[–]LuperFlipino 0 points1 point ago

Orlando Magic is that team that does good probably will hit playoffs but will be no where near the Championship.

[–]bitingaddict 1 point2 points ago

What does the "Bonus" thing mean under the scores?

[–]rawringdino 2 points3 points ago

If the other team is in the penalty.

[–]bitingaddict 0 points1 point ago

Aaaaahhh.

Thanks, I had no idea.

[–]dmwatson 1 point2 points ago

Nick Collison representing us small-town Iowans!

[–]TheGreatestRedditor -1 points0 points ago

Someone tell Westbrook to calm down lol

[–]MaverickMMA -1 points0 points ago

I just wish he was less selfish with the ball.

[–]Infant-Blender 0 points1 point ago

Gotta take the bad with the good with a player like Westbrook. His selfishness lets him make a lot of plays, but also make a lot of mistakes.

[–]MaverickMMA -1 points0 points ago

Gotta hop in the shower. Someone give me periodic stat updates.
