Good god, 2-5 glasses of scotch a day? Who are you, Jack Donaghy? lol

Seriously though:

I hate to be that wiseacre, but I'm going to say it: water.

Your body wants you to drink for one of two reasons: 1. You're dehydrated. 2. It's been condition to receives something (sugar, alcohol, water, etc) from drinking so its second nature.

In my experience trying to substitute artificial sweeteners for sugar works about as well as (forgive the euphemism) lemonade for scotch. You'll be dissatisfied, and still have the craving thirst.

Drink water. Nothing but water. When you're thirsty, drink more water.

Yes, you'll piss like a race horse, but over time (1-3 months) you're body will be reconditioned. Then you'll only be thirsty when you're actually dehydrated and nothing else.

I like diet rootbeer and heavy cream. It's got some carbs from the cream but tastes like a rootbeer float.

Add some sugar free vanilla syrup (used in coffee, mainly) for a real "vanilla ice cream" root beer float flavor.

...also try with Coke Zero/Diet Pepsi for a "coke float" or Diet Sunkist for a dreamsicle float.

I was thinking the orangesicle would be tasty. I'll have to give that a try.

Breyers (sp?) also sells low carb ice cream, with only 4g net carb per serving. Add diet A&W... Instant awesome.

I drink powerade zero because they taste good, have some of the flavors I miss on this diet, and have potassium. 0 carbs.

LOVE powerade zero. Green kind all the way!

That's funny. My daughter and I drink quite a bit of powerade zero, and we refer to it by color as well. The flavor descriptions are completely inaccurate. We like green, blue, and purple.

I didn't even know they had flavor descriptions :)

Coconut milk! Get your MCTs. (Medium Chain Trigycerides...good stuff for keto dieters)It's cheap and comes in half-gallons like milk, usually found with the regular milk.

Never would have thought of that! It's a laxative though is it not? I recall being warned about the coconutty drinks before going on vacation.

I drink it occasionally and haven't had any laxative-like effects. I get the unsweetened kind and add pure stevia extract to it.

it sure is, and on keto, that's a good thing. it's not like you'll need to strap in to avoid liftoff, i personally don't find that a tall glass will summon the thunder with any immediacy or undue fury.

[–]Kirs7Purple stick? HYDRATE! 1 point2 points ago

I got the sugar free kind and added Splenda to save carbs!

3 parts unsweetened Almond Milk, 1 part Heavy Cream, 1/2 part Sugar Free vanilla syrup (like used in coffee). Put in the freezer for 20min, and it's a great vanilla shake.

You could also add 2 raw egg whites and blend for a higher protein + thicker texture.

Heavy cream with unsweetened cocoa, stevia, cinnamon (and maybe some natural peanut butter if you're feeling adventurous) for some delicious hot chocolate!

Almond milk is okay, but be careful--usually regular almond milk has about 7g of carbs for an 8oz service. You can get unsweetened, which has 1g of carbs per serving I believe.

Crystal light is always good

Or Crystal Lights younger sexier version MIO liquid, all the flavor, far more compact, and no chalky filler that's probably made of cornstarch

[–]legion02 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Have it, but it's also filled with a filler that is used specifically to keep cattle out of ketosis.

Edit: To be fair though, doses are probably too low to have that affect on people.

Polar Seltzer water!! It comes in a million flavors like Pomegranate and Pina Colada and Raspberry Lime, etc. No carbs, no anything as per the label. Some places sell chilled liters. I'm completely addicted. AND, it counts as WATER!! It's just wawa with bubbles.

I've been a fan of Diet Rite Pure Zero and it's various incarnations. Advertised as 0 calories, 0 carbs, 0 caffeine, and 0 sodium.
