Maybe I'm broken but shaving with the grain never works for me. It barely gets any hair.

[–]buffythenunmongerer 26 points27 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I was gonna reply to say this. This is NOT a criticism of OP's post. On the contrary, I found it super helpful...But no matter how careful I am, shaving with the grain does NUTHIN in terms of hair removal.

Maybe hold skin tighter if possible?

Same. I always do the opposite for a silky smooth finish.

Perhaps you need a sharper razor or one with more blades? When I'm using a single-blade disposable it does absolutely nothing, but if I'm using a decent one with three or four blades (and one of those moisturising/soapy strips and all that fancy stuff) then it works perfectly. They cost more but they do make a difference.

i think it might have more to do with specific ladies' hair types. i use one of those really nice, smooth venus razors, which works great on my legs and pits, but doesn't do much if i shave with the grain on my ladyparts.

For people like me who worry about the (sometimes toxic) ingredients in commercial deodorants, a nice slather of coconut oil post-shower works excellently, is tender bits safe, and much cheaper.

I oil before, shave in this technique with whatever conditioner, and oil afterwards. This method also works well on legs.

[–]QuaereVerumm 5 points6 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Where do you buy coconut oil?

[–]parafrog 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Jojoba or grapeseed oil work marvelously as well.

[–]detsher77 2 points3 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

THIS. Coconut oil is the BEST aftershave moisturizer. Make your legs and any other freshly shaven areas soft, never sticky, super smooth, but never oily. You also get a nice glow.

I truly can't imagine using a special vaginal wash and following that up with deodorant. That will make for a very sad crotch one day.

[–]VanillaMint 8 points9 points ago

I wouldn't put deodorant or any of those crappy Summer's Eve products anywhere near my crotch.

[–]CLAMORING 1 point2 points ago

JOTea, I use coconut oil for lots of things but it would seem like using it before shaving would clog your razor. Is this your experience?

[–]dontcallmyname 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I've tried using baby oil before shaving my legs and I can confirm that it did clog my razor. I'm not sure about the effect coconut oil would have though.

[–]cowboyoctopus 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Exactly. Most widely commercially produced soaps and deodorants contain preservatives, detergents, and fragrances that can do all kinds of damage (even small things, like causing acne).

For soap, I like California Baby. Clean, smells nice, gets the job done.

[–]moorecows 19 points20 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

you replace your razor once a week? also I hate using washes on my vagina (even summers eve) so I'ma stick with regular soap, will give progress report as to how that works out

[–]emmyla 11 points12 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

That caught my eye too. I replace mine maybe every two months. I do the swiping down my inner arm method to keep the blades from bending, and they last just fine. It would be ridiculously expensive to replace your blade after every third shave.

[–]sweetbldnjesus 18 points19 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Also, you can swipe them down a pair of jeans a few times. Works really well. And don't let it air dry, which will dull the blades, too. I keep mine in a little cup of rubbing alcohol. I hear you can use oil or plain-ole-drinking-alcohol, too, like vodka. Anything to keep the metal from oxidizing.

Thank you, r/frugal!

[–]teabagcity 17 points18 points ago

Wait, what! Please tell me everything you know about keeping my razor nice, right now. I have never heard any of these things before in my life, ever.

Do your razors have the little gel strip on them, or are these just blades?

[–]sweetbldnjesus 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

They have the little strip, but the razor winds up lasting long past the little gel strips. If they start to break apart (the gel strips) I just pull them off.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

The alcohol thing doesn't really matter. I've used the same razor for over a year and it sits on my bathtub. Swiping on your inner arm doesn't work nearly as well as swiping on your palm.

Here's a video explaining the jeans trick. It hones the blade, straightening the the edges that get small (ie, itty bitty) kinks/bends in them from use.

Running the blades the opposite direction on your arm is comparable. I use this method, and it keeps the blades nicer for significantly longer. :)

[–]emmyla 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Take a look at a razor you've been using for a while. Maybe it depends on the brand, but you can often see little bends on the blade. It's like the blade catches on a hair and is so crappy that it just gives in. Sometimes the edges curl in too.

[–]moorecows 6 points7 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Oh I never thought to do that! I usually just do it in reverse on denim to keep the blades straight. And even before I started doing that I replaced them intermittently, mostly due to being broke, though.

[–]emmyla 7 points8 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I like the inner arm thing because I can do it while I'm in the shower... I think i'd forget otherwise. I really had no idea most people changed their razor blades that often. Maybe I was raised to be stingy though... just last week I learned that most people throw away the insides of their tomatoes.

[–]Story_Time 15 points16 points ago

What? The inside of their tomatoes? That doesn't make any sense!

[–]Fizzbit[S] 2 points3 points ago

Awesome! A++ and 5 million lady-points to you for taking the time to write this out. I've never heard of the deodorant trick.

[–]Fizzbit[S] 5 points6 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

The deodorant trick I think is really what makes this work. I'll get a good shave following the other steps, but I'll itch if I forget the deodorant, which can increase your chance for razor bumps and ingrown hairs.

[–]dontcallmyname 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Do you ever use the deodorant the next time, when you haven't shaved? Can you do that and will it help with the itching and ingrown hairs?

[–]Fizzbit[S] 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Honestly you only really need it after you've shaved. I've slacked and gone for over a week without shaving and had no issues with itching or ingrown hairs.

It does start to itch when the hair is long enough to poke at my skin as I walk though. Usually that's my indicator that I need to shave again :P

[–]dontcallmyname 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Doesn't your skin get dry and itchy if you don't use lotion/oils on it after not shaving it for a few days?

[–]Fizzbit[S] 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Not really, no.

[–]abasss 14 points15 points ago*

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I'll do this step by step. If it goes right, I'll build you a shrine and sing praises to you everyday, if it goes wrong and the deodorant makes me itch or burn, start running, because I'll hunt you down and kill you.

thanks for the tip!

edit: Ok, I did this today (only a tiny bit), it didn't burn, so far it isn't itching, I see some little bumps, but the skin seems mostly smooth. The deodorant feels divine. I guess I have a shrine to build.

[–]LostPristinity 2 points3 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I was totally skeptical and nervous the first time someone told me about the deodorant thing, but it does really help the itch.

[–]LostPristinity 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Nope, not originally. Didn't know people washed with conditioner down there. I do wash with warm water and soap now. Now i have to go find vagina conditioner now...

[–]abasss 1 point2 points ago

I did it yesterday, used regular conditioner, its gooeyness helped the razor slid better.

What about exfoliating?

[–]Nailpolished 8 points9 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Is it just me who thinks using deodorant there sounds a bit crazy? :) My skin would die. I'm assuming it's the alcohol in some deodorants that disinfect after you shave. I just use chlorhexidine and body lotion after, also works. :)

[–]SoulpowerTigress23 2 points3 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Well, that's why she says stick deodorant specifically. It's gel deodorant that has the alcohol in it, but stick deodorant doesn't. I've used stick deodorant down there for years without any issues and a lot of relief. I actually got the idea when I noticed that my armpits are never itchy, red, razor burned, etc even though I shaved them every day. Secret Coocoo Coco Butter, my boyfriend loves the smell lol.

[–]Kimimpossible 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I really don't think the deodorant is a good idea. It may work for the OP, and it's probably a very specific brand. Because deodorant has metal and doctors highly recommend NOT using deodorant on recently opened pores (aka just shaved).

[–]rlnngt 2 points3 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I've used a variety of brands for years- not just OP

[–]soulonfire 3 points4 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

You've never put deodorant on your after shaving your armpits? That would be the same thing.

[–]pibble 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

There's a high correlation between the aluminum in women's anti-perspirant and breast cancer.

The logic behind it is that the aluminum seeps into the pores and blocks the sweat glands from releasing sweat in their normal, healthy way. This causes the sweat (which is just body waste) to be absorbed into the lymph notes in the armpits. These lymph nodes are now in a much higher demand, and because the wastes are now in a much higher concentration, they can circulate around the breast tissue without being removed as promptly.

Another theory is that the aluminum seeps right into your axillary lymph nodes (armpits) and then into your lymphatic system, causing damage. It's a pretty well known carcinogen.

If you're going to stick anything on your freshly shaved armpits, try not to use anti-perspirant. Unless you have a really heavy sweating problem, your body will adjust to the new feeling of not being blocked up and create less sweat.

[–]Kimimpossible 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Nope, I don't lol. I tried this weird crystalized deodorant but it didn't work. I didn't feel like there was anything doing work. I'm a bit lucky, I don't sweat or stink very much in my pits. But when I do shave and I have to go somewhere soon after I shower, I wait like 20-30 minutes for the pores to close up.

[–]Meikami 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I used to do the same thing before putting on my makeup, but the truth is that pores can't and don't "open" and "close." source.

[–]Fizzbit[S] 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I've used Degree, Secret, Dove, Mitchum, and when I was stuck at my boyfriend's house without my own deodorant I've even used Old Spice. There's nothing specific about this.

Anti-perspirant or deodorant?

[–]Fizzbit[S] 0 points1 point ago

I've used deodorant and anti-persperant+deodorant, specifically.

[–]pibble 0 points1 point ago

I would avoid anti-perspirant. The aluminum in it is a known carcinogen.

Does it matter if it's scented? (From the Old Spice comment, I'm guessing not.)

[–]Fizzbit[S] 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Nah, not at all. All the ones I've used have been scented. The one I use the most is actually the "Dove Ultimate Visibly Smooth: Wild Rose Scent". (The visibly smooth part makes my armpit hair grow back slower but only seems to make my pubes softer)

Be wary though: If your kitty's sensitive to the chemicals that cause scents, you may want to get an unscented to keep around just for this. If you're not sure, just test a small patch of skin or you can use an oil/lotion instead.

[–]Meikami 9 points10 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I've been doing all of this (though I have a thick post-shave lotion instead of deodorant) and although I've found I can prevent all the razorburn/bumps, no matter what I do I can't get smooth and stubble-free. Even on those days when I get pissed and shave against the grain (I know I know) I can't get those damn hairs to stand up enough to get a close shave. It's like the stubble just sits flush with the skin so the razor just glides right over it. I'd have to shave the skin off before I could ever get the razor to reach to the base of the hair. >.<

Any strategies for stubborn close-laying stubbles, ladies?

[–]bananasplits 3 points4 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Do you pull the skin so that it exposes the hair more? If I don't I have the same issue...I can't really describe how I pull my skin, but somehow it makes the hair come out? (awk.)

[–]SpoonPoetic 2 points3 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Pull the skin reaaaally tight, both with weird yoga positions and also using your hand. That's all I got. :-P

I just imagined someone doing legit yoga in the shower and also trying to shave. Hilarious.

[–]butyourenice 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

shave against the grain. clean your (new) blade with alcohol and use salicylic acid pads (like oxy) on the area after you finish and for a couple days after.

warning: if you got a close shave, it WILL burn the first time you put it on, but it will keep ingrown hairs away. i hope it doesn't need to be said but do NOT put it ANYWHERE near your actual vagina or urethra!!

[–]Meikami 4 points5 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

eeps and egads, no! Nothing's going there but good ol' water. That's it. The thought of anything with the word "acid" in it going near my lady-bits is just horrifying.

[–]butyourenice 2 points3 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

salicylic acid is an over-the-counter acne treatment. acne lesions and folliculitis are functionally the same thing: bacteria in a pore gets trapped and leads to an infection. a nice, red, pus-filled bump for you to enjoy.

hylauronic acid is also an "acid" by definition, and yet it is a very soothing humectant. don't be mislead by names. however, if you are worried about stinging, you can also use a gentler facewash (like neutrogena redness soothing acne scrub, or something along those lines) and just wash after you finish shaving. but, again, like most soaps, detergents, and lotions, it should NOT enter any of your orifices. :|

[–]Meikami 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

lol...stinging isn't my issue. I was being facetious about the acid thing.

Nah, my only issue is getting the hair up. That's all. Razorburn and bumps have been long-conquered.

[–]butyourenice 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

ah in that case... me, i've actually had the best luck with men's shaving cremes, even if they leave my crotch smelling like a man's face :b

i know there's one brand of shaving something for men that is supposed to make the hair stand up better, but i forgot the name, so i guess i can't help you there. ever since i started epilating as much as i can and shaving the rest, i haven't had much problem with ingrown hairs :\

[–]Meikami 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Yeah...I rarely get ingrown hairs anymore, thankfully, due to a pretty strict exfoliation-then-moisturization ritual. There's one pesky little mole on my leg that always gets ingrowns, for some reason, but otherwise I'm good.

Maybe I'll experiment with some shave gels. I don't know though, from my experience they've largely been over-hyped bull, but there might be some useful products out there.

[–]Spongi 25 points26 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Relevant.

I'm going to save this and link it around in the future. For the record, this almost exactly how a man shave his balls too(or should), minus the deodorant. That would probably help with shaving the general pubic area though.

Some hair conditioners make excellent "shaving" cream as well. I recommend mane & tail. Wash, rinse, apply cream and let it sit on for 5-10 minutes before shaving. Softens the skin/hair so it's a much smoother, painless shave.

[–]Fizzbit[S] 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I've heard of conditioner working really well, but I suggest Summer's Eve because I use it to wash my ladybits anyway. Might as well just use a little extra to lather around my pubes.

[–]FapFappington 7 points8 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I'd double check your specific deo to make sure it's cool to go in the cooch.

[–]bunnygurl 7 points8 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I don't think there is any deo that is meant for the crotch. You're not supposed to anything with perfume in that area. And I don't trust "summer's eve" as far I can throw those scumbags. They manufacture problems to solve. No woman should ever douche unless for some unknown reason she was directed by a doctor to do so.... although most gynos will tell you that douching is bad for the ladybits and not necessary ever

[–]arisefairmoon 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I use a hypoallergenic deodorant. No perfume, no dyes. I don't think I could use anything else down there, too sensitive.

[–]bunnygurl 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I, personally, find that Avene anti-shine lotion (which is dermatologist grade face lotion: oil free, anti-irritant properties, meant for sensitive skin) works equally well for my face and vulva. It's pricey stuff but it's worth every penny. (drugstore.com in case you are wondering. not meant to be an advertisement. I genuinely use and love this product.)

[–]Fizzbit[S] 2 points3 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Probably, but I've used at least 5 types and never had any adverse reaction. Unless it's medicated or has something like menthol (cold burning!) you should be totally okay.

[–]FapFappington 9 points10 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I don't have a vagina so I'm sure you know better. I did spray cologne on my penis as a kid and will never put chemicals down there again.

[–]Fizzbit[S] 5 points6 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

JESUS NO.

The reason that burns so much is primarily the alcohol content. Gets into that soft skin and pain ensues!

This shaving technique can totally be used by men, too, if you ever shave down below. I know a guy who shaves and complained about razor burn so I recommended it to him and he hasn't looked back.

[–]FapFappington 1 point2 points ago*

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I do I use an electric buzzer though, quicker and less chance of mess ups.

Edit - I would be scared of using a buzzer around labia, but I suppose a razor would be worse. Makes me shiver.

[–]Spongi 1 point2 points ago

I've nicks my balls with electric trimmers several times. It's quite painful.

Wait wait - okay what do you mean by VAGINA? I never shove anything inside myself, be it soapy fingers or whatever.

BUT I do soap up my hands and get up in the clitoral region and within the labes - just not in the vag.

Amirite?

[–]Story_Time 17 points18 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

From what I understand, you shouldn't use anything more than water on your vulva OR your vagina. Basically, get under the stream, get your hand up in your business, and flapple that shit around (Flapple is a very technical term). Anything else stronger than that can mess up the delicate balance of bacteria in your vulva and vagina and cause infections and irritation.

[–]dackwardsb 5 points6 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

you can soap up the outside bits to clean.

[–]Story_Time -2 points-1 points ago

Yes, but "the outside" is not your vulva or your vagina. This sort of shows what I mean.

Definitely no soap in the clitoral region. You really only need water.

[–]pibble 5 points6 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

My vulva wants soap. Not inside, but my labia and the clit region all seem just fine with a good soaping. Is there a reason you say no soap?

[–]Story_Time 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

The pH balance in that area can be upset by soap which can cause irritation. You may also wash out all the wanted bacteria, leading to things like yeast infections as it is such a damp and warm area.

All you need is water, your vag and vulva can take care of themselves.

[–]pibble 6 points7 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Vag, yes. If I don't soap my labia though, it is not pleasant for anyone involved.

[–]Gawdzilla 3 points4 points ago

I'm in the middle of testing this. So far I have discovered that you should probably opt against wearing black underwear after applying the deodorant.

[–]2dangerous 2 points3 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Before I try this, I suppose I should shave the year+ growth of underarm hair and leg hair. Since I moved away from Berkeley this week (boohoo!) though, I might actually have to shave the legs once in a while.

[–]cowpetter 2 points3 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Another option instead of deodorant is using a medium grit scrub post shave, in the shower, to reduce bumps and ingrown hairs. Facial scrubs work well, but avoid minty ones unless you like a cold tingle on your bits.

[–]nats11 2 points3 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I'm going to try this method tonight, and report back. Shaving the bikini area is the bane of my existence, will shaving with the grain work well with dark coarse hair though?

[–]Fizzbit[S] 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I'm a white girl with fairly coarse, dark hair (dark brown). This gets me a decent shave that's not visible from distances farther than 3-5 feet and is fairly smooth. At the very least give it a shot and let me know how it goes!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

So I tried it, and it worked pretty well for me! No irritation at all which is huge for me because my skin is so sensitive. I'm not sure how I feel about the deodorant part but I'm going to keep using it and see how it works, do you just apply the deodorant everyday even if you don't shave the area? Or do you just shave everyday to keep up with it?

[–]Fizzbit[S] 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I shave about every other day and I don't use it in between shaves, personally. If I go any longer than that I still don't see much issue.

I actually use this stuff called Coochy by Pure Romance. Usually, their stuff is cheap and pretty useless. But this stuff works MAGIC on anything you have to shave. No bumps, redness or ingrown hairs and everything is smooth. Completely worth every penny. My best friend uses it on his face because he has bad acne and sensitive skin and he swears by it.

Thanks for this! The only thing I would add about using deodorant is that many mainstream deodorants contain aluminum, which is not so great to get in your bloodstream. The recommendation I've heard is not to use it if you have cuts under your arms, so if you nick yourself shaving maybe skip that step?

saw this article at the perfect timing. i'm about to jump in the shower! i'll report back in a little bit.

from the sounds of everything on here it should work pretty good. I'm off to experiment! . results SFW

this worked really well! i think the deodorant is what did it. also the using the soap worked well to exfoliate.

Isn't putting deodorant on open pores bad? There's been a big hubbabub about women putting deodorant on after they shave because it can increase your chances of breast cancer. I really like the idea, but is there anything other than deodorant? It's all of the metal in the deodorant that's causing the issue.

There's aluminium in most deodorants and so on that can cause problems if it builds up in your body (there's a lot of studies into the aluminium in early drinks cans leading to increases in dementia and other degenerative brain problems). In theory, it could lead to cancer in some cases although the majority of times it won't make a difference on armpits. I'd say it would be more troublesome in the pubic area due to thinner skin and a more sensitive area, but you shouldn't really be putting chemicals there anyways. Natural oils would do the same thing (moisturise) or some of those natural body butters. And only put them around the very outside.

Yeah. I think there's a universal rule of thumb of being careful of what you put near your nether region. I'd like to know of a way to follow what the OP is advising without doing something chemically. So the natural oils etc. i'll do. I have a neutrogena oil that I put on my legs after I shower, so i'll look in to that and make sure it's natural. Ty!

Yeah, even Palmers Cocoa Butter is fine, I think. It's all natural and nice and it helps remove stretch marks or scars, so if you pick up a bottle of it, it's good for everything.

To my knowledge this is actually an urban myth

My mom's a nurse and she told me it's horrible. I think even just waiting 20 minutes helps close up the pores. But she works with a lot of doctors who told her this, and i've had my doctors tell me this so Idk if it's a great idea. Some people down further in the comments said they use conditioner or oil, i'll probably go with that and stay on the safe side.

Keep in mind that pores don't actually "open" and "close". That's just neutrogena marketing lingo.

[–]pibble 3 points4 points ago

They don't actually open and close, but after they're freshly shaved, the skin could theoretically be irritated and the capillaries dilated. That can increase the potential for nasty materials in deoderants to be absorbed into your body's blood stream more easily.

Can I use my husband's deodorant?

[–]Story_Time 21 points22 points ago

Asking your husband would probably be a good start.

I know this is a lady bits guide, but does this work on legs too? I get horrible ingrown hair problems on my legs!

[–]Fizzbit[S] 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I don't see why it wouldn't! Try it out and let us know! Although I'd try cocoa butter or a lotion instead of deodorant-izing your legs.

[–]dontcallmyname 0 points1 point ago

Why do you recommend deodorant after shaving your ladybits but cocoa butter/lotion when after shaving your legs?

[–]Fizzbit[S] 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Personally for me it's just more of a texture thing - lotion feels slick while deodorant has a more velvety texture, which personally I prefer in that area - slick feelings just make me feel sweaty. I know it would work, just as cocoa butter would work for your ladybits.

Thanks for this! Next time I decide to shave, I'm going to follow this :D I usually use shaving cream, but I'll give the soap a shot. Never heard of the deodorant thing, either, but that's pretty awesome!
