Seems he doesn't like you very much...One of his latest comments is this:

thedevilsdictionary was the /r/circlejerkers mastermind behind taking over /r/catholic and re-tasking it as a place to post porn for the lulz. He's also one of the people violentacrez added to mod /r/jailbait that caused the admins to shut it down. He's butt-hurt over the fact that I pushed them out of their treehouse. The rest of them have largely moved on, but he longs for the glory days. It's best not to encourage him.

This seems to be correct. Considering his history as a drama instigator, I'd rather not give thedevilsdictionary this historian role he apparently wants.

You have never modded /r/Catholic or /r/jailbait?

[–]planaxis 27 points28 points ago

he just doesn't give up on old grudges

Neither do you, apparently. You're still bashing on kleinbl00 six months later. Even the other circlejerker trolls have moved on. I advise anyone reading this account to take it with a grain of salt.

If we're going to play the "who is older than who" card: my account is older than your's.

Why the fuck do you still care about this even a little bit?

Its stuff like this that makes me miss EDs glory days. also i think the correct term would be Drama Llama.

Hi, everybody. Appreciate the spotlight. Gives me a chance to clear the air.

Something that didn't become public at the time (it didn't fit the narrative) is that I didn't ban lawrencejamie's post. Note that I didn't approve it because it was then, and is now against the rules of the subreddit. I also didn't overrule anomander, nor would I. I did, however, tell lawrencejamie that I wouldn't approve it.

I regret what happened next. I should not have been rudeto lawrencejamie. Even I recognize now that my apology comes off as half-assed and insincere and, at the time, it was. Reddit is a difficult place to navigate and the rules are often arbitrary. The fact of the matter is, lawrencejamie in particular and /r/favors in general caught the brunt of my frustration with the Reddit Admins' inaction against a certain cadre of trolls. These same trolls eventually took over /r/catholic and whom, upon being modded by violentacrez in /r/jailbait, caused the admins to ban the entire sub.

Moderating is a tedious and difficult task and one that doesn't suit everyone. It certainly doesn't suit me. I've stepped down from virtually all of my moderating duties (the DoesAnybodyElse thing was voluntary; p-dub and RageX left with me); I'm still at the top of the pile in /r/favors to ensure that when we next elect moderators in march all goes smoothly but haven't done any moderation whatsoever in /r/favors since. I suspect that once this new shift goes through I'll feel comfortable handing the whole thing to whomever the community elects. The team running things there now are doing a great job.

My bottom line, however, is that now that Youngluck is out and capable of tending to his own problems, I no longer need to run interference for him. Frankly, most of the circlejerkers moved on as well. The whole thing is tired, but some people are stuck reliving the glory days.

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points ago

I should not have been rude

TBH I think that the original request for a favor was way the fuck over the top, charity or not, and reading the rules, it was obviously against it (although it seems a bit silly - it is /r/favors after all, and if you feel it's inappropriate, you can just not do the favor, but whatever) - but the rude bit and your angry / condescending tones in a bunch of your posts were kind of off-putting.

Also, that massive trollogistics message has just convinced me that I need to get the fuck off redit and do something useful again, because there are people who spend way too much time online.

[–]kleinbl00 8 points9 points ago

but the rude bit and your angry / condescending tones in a bunch of your posts were kind of off-putting.

Yup. Totally. And it's no fun being that pissed off, either.

Problem is, the /r/DoesAnybodyElse crew was fucking mean. They did shit in their modmail that I had never seen before... and a lot of them modded other places, too. In rhetoric, they called it ethos - "when in Rome, do as the Romans do."

It's very tough being nice in one place and nasty in another, particularly when for you, it's the same place. I signed on to /r/DoesAnybodyElse as the resident skull-cracker without really thinking about whether "cracking skulls" was something that needed to be done, something that should be done, something that I had the capacity to do without it affecting me. It turned me into a nasty fucker.

Also, that massive trollogistics message has just convinced me that I need to get the fuck off redit and do something useful again, because there are people who spend way too much time online.

You won't miss it. You'll be astounded how much more enriched your life feels after spending an hour reading a book rather than an hour surfing Reddit.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points ago

Reddit is huge fun and one of my main (and few) regular websites. I spend a lot of time on it because it's so variegated and generally fairly intelligent. Generally. But the moment I find myself getting too drawn in to anything or pissed off at a given discussion and unable to let go, I delete my account, take a week off, and have a life. Works for me.

This is about my tenth iteration so far. It's oddly satisfying to nuke an account with ~50k karma.

[–]Hallo457 4 points5 points ago

"when in Rome, do as the Romans do."

Oh what a terrible motto to follow. Glad to see you stepping down from what seems to be a pretty crazy mod crew instead of joining the ranks. This seems to be a huge deal out of very little, but that seems to be the case a lot of the time on reddit.

[–]superiority -2 points-1 points ago

TBH I think that the original request for a favor was way the fuck over the top

"Put a date and location on a pre-designed poster" is way over the top? In what sense?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

Read the request. It's a lot more than "put a date and location on a pre-designed poster".

[–]superiority -1 points0 points ago

Okay, also pre-written text and contact details on a pre-designed poster.

[–]rabblerabble2000 6 points7 points ago

You're a very silly man Kleinbl00. Indeed.

[–]TharSheVotes 0 points1 point ago

Hey. You actually know me in another name, but thank-you! <3

[–]redalastor 0 points1 point ago

Even I recognize now that my apology comes off as half-assed and insincere and, at the time, it was.

Did you make a proper one since?

[–]kleinbl00 2 points3 points ago

Whom would I make it to? Lawrencejamie? He hasn't asked. /r/favors? We just had our second election and the team moderating it now is doing a bang-up job.

Reddit at large?

I got about 600 private messages calling me some variety of nigger, fag, jew, cunt, niggerfag, jewcunt, niggercunt, fagjew or some madlib in between. Someone persisted in trying to hack my account for four months afterward. You'll excuse me for feeling a site-wide mea culpa is a bridge too far.

[–]redalastor 0 points1 point ago

Whom would I make it to? Lawrencejamie? He hasn't asked.

Doing so without being asked is what makes someone not an asshole. You don't have to go for the public flogging route, just PM him.

[–]kleinbl00 1 point2 points ago

So when are you going to apologize to me?

[–]redalastor 0 points1 point ago

What for? I didn't PM you to call you "some variety of nigger, fag, jew, cunt, niggerfag, jewcunt, niggercunt, fagjew or some madlib in between".

I'm merely saying you are acting like an asshole and you are.

[–]kleinbl00 2 points3 points ago

It's interesting. You still have a red [F] next to your name because you have said nice things to me, in public and in private. Yet when the shit went down, you publicly excoriated me and have continued to do so. To the best of my knowledge, I've never done anything offensive to you but you're demanding that I apologize to a 3rd party you know nothing about in order to prove I'm not an asshole. When I point out that you've been rather offensive to me, it's okay... because I was rude to someone else and didn't apologize sincerely enough to suit you.

[–]redalastor 0 points1 point ago

didn't apologize sincerely enough to suit you.

As far as I know, you offered no apology to anyone. I could be mistaken though, it's why I asked.

you're demanding that I apologize to a 3rd party you know nothing about in order to prove I'm not an asshole.

I claiming it would be the non-asshole move to make, I am in no position to demand it and neither would I get any proof you did anything privately.

I'm concerned because you are a poweruser got a huge influence on the site and apparently are prone to tantrums.

you publicly excoriated me and have continued to do so

Unlike the people PMing you insults, I'm not going out of my way to find you and I don't remember doing much more than calling you an asshole.

When I point out that you've been rather offensive to me

I have no recollection of going over the line nor wielding a particularly big pitchform (as far as I remember, I didn't call you much worse than an asshole) but if I contributed to make you feel like shit or anything of that nature, I'm honestly sorry for that.

Still, I like this site so please be aware of your influence and don't fuck it up.

[–]kleinbl00 1 point2 points ago

As far as I know, you offered no apology to anyone. I could be mistaken though, it's why I asked.

It's even linked above.

YOu say you're in no position to demand it, yet you insist that somehow, doing so will prevent the downfall of Reddit. Not going out of my way to find me? You're commenting in a month-old hit-piece put together by the very trolls I was protecting Youngluck from. And as far as backhanded apologies, you don't recall calling me "much worse than an asshole" but if, somehow, that hurt my feelings, you're "honestly sorry."

Let's have a frank conversation for a minute. When "the internet" has decided you're the enemy, you can't even bring up that four out of five people piling on you are trolls you've fought before. When even telling people in a small subreddit to send cards to the person the subreddit is about garners 200 downvotes, there isn't a lot you can say. Even now, 6 months later, I still get this every day. Even you seem to think that so long as you didn't "call me much worse than an asshole" you're blameless in all this.

I used to like this site. More than that, I used to respect it. I gotta tell ya though... having a non-backhanded apology demanded of me by someone who doesn't even notice his own backhanded apologies makes it a hard sentiment to hold.

[–]redalastor 0 points1 point ago

It's even linked above.

I completely missed it. My bad. That's actually pretty decent. It's the kind of thing I asked if you did in the first place. The only one I saw back then was the one that went "I AM FUCKING HORRIBLE PERSON, ARE YOU HAPPY?!".

Not going out of my way to find me? You're commenting in a month-old hit-piece put together by the very trolls I was protecting Youngluck from.

I was actually browsing /r/SubredditDrama which I just found. I'm completely unaware of the trolling issue or it relates to youngluck. I realize I didn't follow his story at all recently. I hope he's doing good.

You just happen to be everywhere including in one month old posts. If I was going out of my way to find you, I'd use the rss feed or something like that.

Even now, 6 months later, I still get this every day.

There's a novelty account called potato_in_my_anus or something very close. It was probably a guess to "he's also been three prominent trolls whose names you would recognize".

I don't think it was meant as a personal insult to you. Not that I don't believe you get those frequently.

Even you seem to think that so long as you didn't "call me much worse than an asshole" you're blameless in all this.

No, I just think my share of blame is limited. Unless I said something heinous I don't remember which I said I apologize for if I did. I didn't mean it in a "I'm sorry you feel offended" way.

Even you seem to think that so long as you didn't "call me much worse than an asshole" you're blameless in all this.

You acted like an asshole, I think you are generally a nice guy.

[–]buttholevirus 0 points1 point ago

the 'trolls, tell krispy i told you so' was funny as shit. By the way man, I'd never heard any of this, but I see you post a lot, and i really enjoy your long, intelligent rants.

[–]Dead_Rooster 1 point2 points ago

TBH, when all the drama initially went down I probably would have joined the bandwagon and started hating on you too if it weren't for /r/YoungLuck. The amount of work you put into that for no tangible reward was outstanding and even though I'll never meet you, I'll always have a great deal of respect for you. I do hope to meet Youngluck one day, sounds like the coolest dude ever.

[–]mapellen 8 points9 points ago

Oh man, that was fun to read. Now you need a tag too, don't you? Let's see, ah... I got it!
I HEREBY TAG YOU... 'Professor Devil with a Ph. D in Drama.' click
Now to read your other stories~

[–]eternalkerri 2 points3 points ago

I named him "Ambrose Beirce's Bastard Child."

[–]jumbojets 2 points3 points ago

I have him tagged as "nihilist" but I can't remember why..

[–]eternalkerri 8 points9 points ago

who cares, doesn't matter anyway.

[–]GAMEOVER 9 points10 points ago

kleinbl00 is the epitome of the guy who takes himself way too seriously. All of his long-winded rants seem like a challenge to the reader to finish the whole thing, sprinkled with such outlandish and grandiose claims that one has to wonder if there is a timeline of all of kleinbl00's accomplishments archived somewhere just to keep it all straight. His followers remind me of Gaius Baltar's cult from BSG. I'm glad he's still around too, just for the entertainment value.

[–]disconcision 2 points3 points ago

i disagree. his problem is (was) that he took redditors too seriously. this whole thing was a horde of rabid children barking at an imagined slight. the only offensive thing about it is that he tried to respond rationally.

[–]NoKarmaLoss 2 points3 points ago

There's also the hilarious part where when we didn't yet know who the mod was, people started a witch hunt on ytknows because his username was of similar length.

[–]BritishHobo 4 points5 points ago

Ah, I remember this. When someone calls for a witch hunt, nobody wins.

[–]tyl3rdurden 2 points3 points ago

While a good account, I would like you to add in the fact that Kleinbl00 had saved a redditor from going to jail or reduced his sentence or something like that that made him a hero to many.
