I'm not sure about the seats - this will only be my second time and I didn't get to check out all the grandstands last year.

  • Bring a hat... maybe it was just unusually hot last summer but that sun can really beat on you.
  • Get the paddock passes if it's in your budget, they're fun
  • Get there Saturday night if you can, the parking lots are one giant party.

One of my favorite parts of Race weekend is driving around IMS and watching people party elbow to elbow!

Yea last year was a scorcher. Apparently one of the hottest some people have been to. This year looks perfect with temps in the lower 70s!

If this chart is correct, it looks like you'll be at the start of turn one, looking at the Pit Lanes for the drivers sitting at the front of the race, so I'd say you have excellent seats!

They will grid the cars around 9-10 and then the program starts at 11, so if you're in your seat by then, you should be able to see everyone getting ready for the race itself!

Plus you should have an excellent view of the entire main straightaway!

Yes, I have media credentials, but will be wandering around the track for most of the day.

Can't say that I am, but I'd love to go one year. Maybe I could save up and make the 100th race in a few years time.

That's my plan as well, this may be the 100th Anniversary, but I think the 100th running of the race is going to be the one to check out.

If you're under the age of 30 and/or want to do do heavy drinking, Turn 3 is where it's at, with all the common folk on the infield. Seats? We don't need no stinking seats.

I'll be there. I'm the only one left going this year from a group of about 15 the past few years. Is it just me or is there truly no better place to watch the sun rise on the last sunday in May? Also for any first timers never underestimate the amout of water you will need!! Please be safe out there!

Decided at the last moment (Friday AM) to call and order some tickets. Was a tough call being unemployed. South vista row Z seats 7 - 8. Leaving from CT Saturday morning.

First time going, its a dream come true Ive wanted to go since I was 3, Im going to be in the Pit row terrace, suite 523, I cant believe the stuff that ive gotten to do. I got to follow one of the Dreyer & Reinbold cars on to the track for the pit crew competition, I got to go to one of their team parties/silent auction, and then today I got to sit next to Mario Andriette at the public drivers meeting, and then I got to ride in one of the pace cars around the track. I honestly still cant believe that I have done all of this stuff!
