I've cracked open quite a few beers tonight (my favorite beer, Bell's Two Hearted Ale.) I have spent the night having wonderful conversations with my parents, my brother, and a few good friends.

Alcohol, like any drug, can be used properly to great benefit, and abused, to great detriment.

Two Hearted Ale is amazing. I never thought I'd enjoy a bitter food, but here I am

You can almost chew that shit. Delicious.

Ya know I used to be one of those rypical pot smokers who think of alcohol as a bad drug that is only detrimental to your health and relationships, but as of recently I've been exposed to it's introspective properties. If you know how to use alcohol well, to your advantage, and to your personal benefit, it can be a great substance.

Alcohol can definitely be good for introspection, it's just that the vast majority of people don't use it that way so we don't think about it.

Never even thought to use alcohol like this...

Try it next time, it can be a very useful substance.

Do you think contemplative might be a more accurate term than introspective?

When I drink alone, my thoughts don't become about me at all, but I get the ability to focus on a single thought line for quite a while.

Yes that's exactly the word I was looking for! I couldn't think of it as I was typing it. Yeah my buddies and I had such a brilliant rant about society and its flaws while quite drunk.

I love alcohol. The trouble with booze is it is one of the hardest drugs to do properly. It's all about threading that line between comfortably buzzed and intoxicated.

Switch to beer and don't chug them. When I drink beer in the fashion that I'd drink other drinks I never get much past comfortably buzzed.

Yah beer and cocktails are definitely key. My basic rule is I always have a beer in hand that I drink slowly, just to keep my throat not dry and that leaves me with some room to do shots or whatever if other people buy them for me.

Once you've mastered alcohol and learned to prevent hangovers it becomes the best drug available bar none.

I rarely get drunk, but that's always what I tell people I'm doing instead of the drugs I'm actually doing.

[–]Djteejay 2 points3 points ago

yeah me too, its more socially acceptable

Uggh... Tequila is swill. That, of course, is my opinion, but tequila is the worst liquor ever. Give me a nice whiskey or even a vodka over tequila. I've never had a tequila that I've liked, and I've never even gotten sick off of it.

When I was young I had a scheme to steal some booze from my parents. It was tequila but to me I thought it was the same as anything else (I was 12 I think). So I take a few shots and end up getting wicked appendicitis that very same night. Went to the ER and puked up tequila all over the place from pain. Every time I even smell or see the stuff it brings back horrible memories.

THE END

tequila is pretty nasty haha. i prefer gin and tonics or rum and cokes.

I kinda grew out of pot. Realised it just made me lazy and unmotivated.

Booze for all the bad press it gets, ain't all that bad responsibly.

I love Alcohol as a tool, as I'm a very introspective, interpersonal person, but as a drug, it's pretty lame to me. This may just be the way I use drugs as either ego-destroying, spiritual experiences, or fun, trippy, feel good times; neither of which catergory does Alcohol fall into, just like Cocaine and similar drugs, which I also don't like as drugs.
