I have fictional day dreams of a group of terrorists attacking my house aand what I could use to defeat them all and get away safe.

[–]xb4r7x 17 points18 points ago

Pretty sure everyone does this...

[–]thetebe 11 points12 points ago

Do you guys Love Die Hard 1 and 2?

[–]sonavlaa 11 points12 points ago

Yes, but I dread the day I walk on broken glass with bare feet.

[–]thetebe 13 points14 points ago

Shudder

I once stepped in semi-warm dog shit with bare feet. It was disqusting to the point of disbelief. When it, what felt like slow motion, sipped up between the toes, my life changed forever.

There are nights I wake up sobbing and screaming.

[–]Linktank 2 points3 points ago

I think the only thing worse than this would be if you were wearing just socks, no shoes.

[–]Damaband41 -4 points-3 points ago

SO BRAVE

[–]Damaband41 1 point2 points ago

This plays out in my head every time I hear a minor noise. I immediately locate and acquire the closest pocket knife.

[–]chaos_is_me 19 points20 points ago

Read that as "unraped windows"

WHO RAPES WINDOWS?!

[–]TinyShrimp 5 points6 points ago

WHO DOESN'T?!

[–]spcjns 4 points5 points ago

I know a guy. He's pretty strange to be honest

[–]slipandslide[S] 2 points3 points ago

I wasn't going to use "undraped" for this reason, but ended up keeping it for the same reason.

[–]gameofsmith 1 point2 points ago

I read it as "walking under raped" and had the same thought.

[–]Damaband41 1 point2 points ago

Linux.

[–]thetebe 14 points15 points ago

Hahaha no. That is silly.. ..silly you.. :D

...Closes the curtains

[–]charlescatsworth 17 points18 points ago

I feel like unless my curtains and blinds are covering every centimeter of my window, someone is going to watch me undress.

[–]ohh3nry 5 points6 points ago

We were.

[–]samahh 4 points5 points ago

I am.

[–]Louaym 10 points11 points ago

Now I do ಠ_ಠ

[–]HosonZes 7 points8 points ago

Where are you? In Kabul?

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points ago

I have this problem not out of fear but conditioning after hours of call of duty.

[–]standard_baby 4 points5 points ago

MLK used to have that same fear, but he got over it. You will too, one way or another.

[–]scotty269 2 points3 points ago

Nope.

[–]NerdBot9000 2 points3 points ago

Are you this guy?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

Oh dear. I wonder what kind of trauma he suffered because of that. At least, I would be traumatized from that.

[–]jaasx 2 points3 points ago

Irrational?

[–]kingpumpkin 1 point2 points ago

Not on do I feel that a sniper will shoot me, I have that matrix slow-mo thing goin' on. And iot's not normal slow-no, it's like 5 seconds for every nano second...

[–]Damaband41 0 points1 point ago

There are too many spelling errors for me to bother pointing them out to you.

[–]kingpumpkin 1 point2 points ago

Sorry, I was typing fast I was in a rush. I had to go so I was just posting and getting off quickly.

[–]Quatroking 1 point2 points ago

When walking outside I tend to scan the area for rooftops, think of places where possible snipers/spies could watch me, etc. etc.

I ain't acceptin' no snipin'

[–]itsfreshlyshorn 1 point2 points ago

it's not irrational because i live in the blackstone valley

[–]stephj 1 point2 points ago

yep. and when i'm walking around tall buildings.

[–]Cynyr 1 point2 points ago

Not often, but earlier today I was going into my house and I swear I thought I saw a laser dot flash across the door frame. Maybe it was just one of those dang kids again. Or my imagination.

[–]vainamo- 1 point2 points ago

Yup. Also I have the fear that anyone who is either being passed by me or is passing me is going to shoot at me.

[–]enrique_spankypants 1 point2 points ago

Everyone knows that you would see the red laser dot and because of that you would have enough time to react before being shot. So don't worry.

[–]burst_bagpipe 1 point2 points ago

Troll the sniper and wear a hat/t-shirt with a target on it. DISCLAIMER: helmet and body armour must be worn at all times.

[–]smokeysevin 1 point2 points ago

When I walk into my room at night I won't turn the lights on until I have close my blinds and curtens.

[–]bored1 1 point2 points ago

It is a rational fear for me.

[–]mauxly 1 point2 points ago

Is that you Roger Ailes?

[–]boywizard 1 point2 points ago

For some reason, I read this as, "DAE still have the irrational fear of being shot by a sniper when walking by undraped windows?"

I was thoroughly confused.

[–]FalynnFromGrace 0 points1 point ago

Kind of. Someone shot at me through our opened windows years ago. It was only a BB gun but that shit was inches from my head.

[–]CalmSpider 0 points1 point ago

I only really think about it if the potential vantage point is at least 500 meters away and elevated above the rest of the terrain in the area. Snipers work from far away.

[–]disasterific 0 points1 point ago

Its rational.

Plus, the fear of having someone watch your every move through high powered binoculars. Which has lead to the habit of randomly doing something stupid in front of a window to entertain whatever creeper may be out there.

mmhmm.

[–]kraftymiles 0 points1 point ago

Nope, but i do often wonder why, in film, Americans never seem to have curtains. (Or drapes)

[–]kingster20 0 points1 point ago

When I saw enemy at the gates for the first time...

man, that was tough shit.

[–]smokeyjeff 0 points1 point ago

Has anyone here seen the movie Wanted?

[–]marlbor0 0 points1 point ago

YEAH

[–]lud1120 0 points1 point ago

My guess you can have these fears when you live in big city apartments. All these movies...

[–]Jaws0me 1 point2 points ago

Not entirely relevant, but it's the first thing I thought of. WKUK - Sniper Business

[–]CiD7707 0 points1 point ago

If a sniper was going to take you out from a window, it wouldn't be one that you would think to look through.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

lol..i do that too! I have to have all my windows covered up completely or else I feel like someone is watching my every move. creepy! Also, i check behind the shower curtain before peeing, just in case there is a serial killer waiting for me. movies and video games have not helped this at all. lol

[–]slipandslide[S] 0 points1 point ago

i blame watching too many james bond or any action films when i was a youngster.

[–]slipandslide[S] 0 points1 point ago

i blame watching too many james bond or any action films when i was a youngster.

[–]mrbarry1024 1 point2 points ago

YES!

I never imagine that there would be someone else who thinks like this!

[–]slipandslide[S] 0 points1 point ago

I also point knives away from me. You can't even trust inanimate objects these days.

[–]Sphenodonta 0 points1 point ago

No, but if I play spy too much in tf2, I feel a tingly sensation when walking by people with their backs turned.

[–]acrazydreamer 0 points1 point ago

I hold the door and let people walk out before me, in case of snipers.

[–]Votatilis_nex 0 points1 point ago

Finally someone else! Damn snipers..

[–]SocialLeper 0 points1 point ago

Not undraped windows, but when I see the drape of a dark-is room flutter a few times I start to walk faster.

[–]stoor 0 points1 point ago

YES, espicially in empty parking lots near high-rises

[–]bouncycastles 0 points1 point ago

Actually, I used to duck down at random moments when intuition struck me. To avoid bullets, of course, because there were totally snipers outside. (Part of the reason logic is so much better than intuition.) And then I got medication and odd symptoms of craziness like this mostly went away.

[–]MyPinkElephants 0 points1 point ago

Yes. I always have my drapes closed. If even a little bit is uncovered I get uneasy and I have to fix it :)

[–]watevs44 0 points1 point ago

Especially after watching that second episode of Alcatraz

[–]Fruitbat3 0 points1 point ago

Great, now you got me momentarily scared because there are about 10 different vantage points outside my window to where I am sitting right now.

[–]llill 0 points1 point ago

Not really a fear, but I think about it when I walk by windows and I feel like I wouldn't be surprised if I get shot.

[–]k1ngAustin 1 point2 points ago

This is why I buy kevlar drapes.
