Go get yourself an image book of an artist you like. My job is to operate large format inkjets so every now and then I buy a book, scan what I like and when I feel like it I do a little overtime and print some stuff I accumulated. Also, there's the hubble website which has some incredible high resolution pictures, if that's your kind of thing. Or may I suggest, blu-ray screen grabs, maybe they won't get as large as you'd like, but they make for awesome posters.

hehe, i used to have access to a 60" printer too. it was loads of fun.

printing out people portrait shots of people leaving the company and hanging it up in the restaurant during the leaving dinner is always good :D

edit: i printed this for my girlfriend at something like 24x17 and she absolutely adored it. she's a typeface nerd and as a designer, loved the thought of being able to reference typefaces at will. also good in living areas as a convo piece.

Screen grabs from your favorite 3D game. Turn your character around 360 degrees, taking screen grabs. Piece together in Photoshop to make a seamless panorama. Blow it up to be the size of your dorm room, print out the panorama in strips.

Wallpaper your room to look like... say.. the final level of the original Doom.
