I'm 98% certain that chinchilla's act like that all the time, not just when a guitar is playing.

I'd like to see a video of Tiki's behavior before, during and after playing the guitar to determine the hypothesis "Tiki the chinchilla loves the guitar" is a scientifically observable phenomenon.

I believe that it's been established that, for the most part, animals do not perceive music in the same way that people do, and they do not dance. Other great apes, perceive music, but have notably different tastes. I think that it's gorillas that perceive heavy metal music as a human might a lullaby.

The may not perceive music the same why we do, but chinchillas in general love music. A good way to socialize a chin is to sing to it. They don;t care if you sound god awful. Or at least mine doesn't. When I sing or hum, he pauses and tilts his head. He also acts differently when different music is being played. When chins hates something it's very obvious, they "grumble" and grind their teeth at you. When I play something electronic, he hops on his flying saucer and run like no tomorrow.

I choose to believe that when you say

he hops on his flying saucer

you mean a real alien type flying saucer. Please do not try to convince me otherwise! I can think of few things more awesome than chinchillas adapting alien technology for their own amusement

It's delightful, but running around like an ADHD 5th grader on speed != dancing.

ADHD fifth graders are usually given speed to calm them down.

I definitely watched this when that other video about chinchilla's was on reddit and was sorely disappointed that by "dancing chinchilla," they meant "overly excited chinchilla. Not really interesting or special."

Indeed. Based on the video title of "Tila the Dancing Hamster", I was hoping for this but, alas, was disappointed.
